Hi guys.  Nicole is going to begin fleshing out the layout and art for one of our comic stories.  Most likely the story that JT wrote.  So I've added her to the list to see what's up.  JT, did you already have someone in mind to draw that one?  Perhaps having a couple of artists work together (virtually perhaps) would allow for more speedy/less stressful workflow?

Also, Nicole suggested that we create myspace pages for our main characters as a way to flesh them out.  We didn't have a chance to get too deep in that conversation.  But maybe you could elaborate, Nicole?  Would the idea be to portray the characters in a way that is not currently being done on the groups page?  If so then can we just add something to the group page?  Or is the idea to let other folks see the character profiles?  If so then how can we use that to the organization's overall advantage?

(sorry if you got two invites to the marriage thing.  I'm a goof.)

Woohoo!

Hey Clay---yes everyone, definitely please make it known if there is
someone already working on this next installment of the comic!
Either way, I am working on some character sketches for now and some
simple storyboarding for JT's version of the plot until I hear that
someone else is already doing this one.

In reference to the myspace profiles:
Josh's idea was to actually use the myspace profiles to help us keep
track of what each character was like. For ex...If Marcel was a "real"
person, what would she put as her favorite quotes? her interests?
etc.
For now, it would definitely be more of an organizational tool for the
comic book collaborators...so that whoever was working on it could
easily get a summary of what the character's personality was like.. we
could keep track of details about characters' personalities that we
have dropped in this or that issue of the comic.
For instance, if in one of the issues Marcel was carrying a folder
that had a CLASH sticker on it, then that could be carried over to the
myspace profile so that each artist would be able to keep that in
mind. Sort of like a way to track the history of characters'
individual interest OUTSIDE of the actual comics.
I hope this makes sense!
Also, I am thinking that eventually fleshing out the profiles,
connecting them to the TAM site, and making them public could
potentially function as another "outreach"-type of element. Because
TAM seems to be aiming the project at a younger crowd (myspace using
crowd), it would be another way connect kids to the project---they
could add TAM characters as buddies.

Also, in ref to the comic book project in general.....
Have you guys already discussed where the plot is going in the longer-
term?
I have read through the material within this google group that deals
with comic book ideas, but I still haven't gotten a real sense of
this. It would be really helpful for me (since I am new around here)
to find out who else is working on the comic book ideas and get into a
deeper discussion about where yalls see this going. Obviously,
plotting out everything for future issues is
1.impossible at this point
2. unnecessary and possibly limiting
BUT.....it would help to have a more comprehensive idea about long-
term goals/main points of the comic.

I'm going to try and take some time tomorrow to condense all of the
information that the group has generated so far into kind of
summarized updated version with some ideas of my own. Right now,
sleepytime!

woot.

Woot, indeed.

Time for another plotline meeting, I think.  JT, T, Nicole, are you booked or overworked for any of the next four Wednesday nights? (not counting later today)  Nate, if you feel up for diving all the way into plotline planning then please let me know your Wednesday night availability as well.

(In answer to your question, Nicole: JT has been tinkering with a long term plotline overview (no pressure, JT!))

Sory for a late reply - work is kicking my ass.
Long term plot - I really need input from T on the cosmology piece.
Even if it's rough.

T - you out there? A phone call might get it done.

And no - no other artists are currently working on this.
