Hey, guys.

We have several new folks on our team now.  Really good energy, lots of drive.  I'm excited for everyone to meet each other.

In order to expand gracefully, we've come up with a more inclusive work flow.  We should go over details in person.  But here are some of the features:

There are now links to any of our working websites (email archives, wikis, etc) on a bookmark page.  You can get there by clicking on "Team Pages" in the sidebar of our blog.  It's also at http://www.ThoughtAndMemory.org/bookmarks.html

From the bookmarks page you can go to our shiny new project management system.  Why have we invested so much time in setting this up?

Keeping track of our aspirations and accomplishments helps us:
  • Understand the context of our own and each other's work.
  • Eliminate redundant or counterproductive tasks.
  • Plan our strategic milestones and next steps.
  • Demonstrate what we've been able to accomplish to funders, press, and other supporters.
Your user name for the project management system is at the end of this email.  Your password is currently odinr0x! (the "0" is a number, not a letter.)

We've also identified a set of Iteration Milestones.  We're naming our 3 month iterations alphabetically after birds.  We're working on "Crow", our first system redesign, until June 1st.  That's right, we've already finished "Auklet" (design) and "Bluejay" (first release).

Lucy has spent a heck of a lot of effort getting this to work.  Shaunalynn has set an example for how to create a "sticky" overview on one of our google groups pages.  And I've started to fill in the details.

I'm so very excited that our team is coming together and I look forward to learning more from each of you as we continue to grow.
