"Duck"). Lucy and I are going on a 10 day trip at the end of next
week. So can we meet beforehand?

Because we all put so much effort into planning our launch party and
press releases I prefer that ramp up slowly to getting serious work
done this summer. So let's combine our executive board meeting with
our first planning meeting. A half hour for executive board business
and goal setting followed by an hour (or less) of planning in separate
groups (outreach and dev) should get us rolling. To help make the
process speedy Lucy and I will bring a proposal for goals and ways to
accomplish those goals. We'll also send a complete agenda before the
meeting so that you can think about changes to suggest.
Here's the structure we've come up with so far:
exec agenda (unordered):
* go over duck goals
* fyi: review current budget
* new members
breakout
* add all stories to list (go over scope, criteria)
* prioritize stories
* people accept stories

at Wainwright Bank in Central Square (on Mass Ave next to Starbucks
and the florist.) I'll bring some sandwiches, so please rsvp if you
haven't filled out the doodle schedule yet.
Sherri and Kat are each considering being board members. So hopefully
they'll be able to come for the whole meeting. If you're not on the
board then you're welcome to show up at 7:30 (or come earlier to
observe.)
Lucy and I will each try to send out our list of goals and stories
(projects) a few hours before the meeting begins so that you have a
chance to see what you're getting into.

doing over the summer.)

Attached is the budget that we'll all be reviewing. I'll bring some
print outs too.
Here are the goals that I'll propose for the summer iteration:
Outreach - Begin to make a real impact with our working online community:
Work with teachers to modify and adopt our lesson plans in local
classrooms. Contact every relevant informations provider and similar
service to suggest alliances. Create an expanded research guide.
Create a potential revenue report based on market research. Finish
Chocolate industry research. Publish an interactive workshop
guide/page. Design and begin implementing community information
pages. Contact a dozen grants and secure funding from at least one
source. Host a major local fundraising event.
Development Goals:
* get the web application technology in a developer friendly state
so that the rest of our feature set can be added and bugs eliminated.
The application should contain the full feature set, work on all
platforms and we should be confident about our ability to identify and
fix bugs.
* turn cellphone demo into maintainable, extensible system and add
features. Same principle as for web application. There are really two
parts here: the cellphone application and the data gathering backend.
The latter should be better integrated into the main app.
