yo,

I don't usually write formal messages to the whole team. Nonetheless,
BILUMI/TAM passed a huge milestone yesterday. Lest it go unnoticed, I
would like to point out why we should all be proud.

Our accomplishments this past iteration--the last 3 months in our 12
month history--have been tremendous. To name a few:
* Establish a project management system and improve team communication
* Collaborate with the Center for New Civic Media
* Initiate community page designs
* Design and begin implementing second comic book
* Build SMS system demo
* Redesign web application
* Publish new diagrams of how system works
* Quadruple youtube fan club commercials
* Make raven puppets to crash an ecological sustainability fair
* Outreach at MIT Museum's science and earth week, MIT's
entrepreneur's club, Harvard's Berwick conference
* Change our name, logo and identity
* Expand our blog into an interesting journal of events
* Improve team communication and effectiveness
* Apply for 2 grants and send 4 letters of inquiry
* Get written up in 4 blogs and media sources (and counting)--list
will be available online soon.
* Have our own chocolate bar wrapper
* Have incredibly successful launch party

All of these accomplishments have real impacts on the future of
BILUMI/TAM. The launch party, a culmination of our efforts this
iteration, is especially meaningful for the organization as a whole. As
from a Bar Mitzvah, the organization has launched into the public
consciousness, not as the "neat concept" it started as, but as a real
organization with the process, technology and committment to mature into an
organization's equivalent of adulthood.

(If you haven't yet appreciated and celebrated our accomplishments please
take the time to do so right now.)

Great! We are now in the Duck iteration, effective today through August
31st. What gets done this iteration depends on the interests and
commitment of each of us. This could include:
* Fix bugs and add features to web application and cellphone system
* Import and research tons of data
* Acquire more funding, users, contributors and volunteers
* Present in more conferences and appear in more media
* Initiate collaboration with local teachers for fall semester
* Publish second comic book

We'll have an organizational-wide meeting soon with breakout sessions for
going over duck goals, stories and commitments. That might also be a good time
for process and accomplishment feedback.

Good work,
Lucy.
