From BlueStacks, open "BlueStacks Settings", click "Import Windows Files" and click Proceed. A file chooser dialog will appear where you can select the file you want to import (tips: you can select multiple files by holding Ctrl and clicking other files). Finally, click Open. BlueStacks will copy the files to the same shared folders mentioned above.

BlueStacks only provide a way to access a subfolder of the sdcard /storage/sdcard/windows/BstSharedFolder which in Windows has the path C:\ProgramData\BlueStacks\Engine\UserData\SharedFolder. The easiest way is thus to place some files there, and then use an Android file manager app (eg, TotalCommander, which can move whole folders) to move the files around where you need them on your sd card.

BlueStacks stores the sd card as a kind of virtual image disk, on Windows it's at C:\Program Data\BlueStacks\Android\SDCard.sparsefs or at C:\ProgramData\BlueStacks\Engine\Android\SDCard.vdi depending on the version. Essentially, what you can do is that you can create a new virtual image disk, but formatted in FAT, which will allow both the mounting inside Android and Windows! Then, you will see the virtual image disk as a drive in "My Computer".

And lastly, you need to kill all BlueStacks processes (ie, they start with "HD-*") and change the path to the sdcard image via regedit at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BlueStacks\Guests\Android\BlockDevice\2\Path.

You can install Total Commander app in BlueStacks along with FTP and SCP/SFTP (SSH) plugins and transfer the files over the network to your local PC. On Mac SSH can be enabled and transferred to your localhost via SSH. On Windows you can install FTP server on your PC, so the app can connect to your IP via FTP protocol.

For about two months, I had been using the bluestacks android emulator in a windows virtual machine. Specifically, I was using parallels and windows 7 32 bit, and was just using bluestacks to play some apps. During that time I was using an early version of OS X Yosemite.

Unfortunately, I have been unable to play apps ever since one of the later Yosemite updates, and the issue persists in the El Capitan update. I can open bluestacks and run the apps fine, but it doesn't take long before my mac crashes for insufficient memory. I have 8 GB of RAM, which had been more than enough to run bluestacks in the past.

It was hard to determine what was causing this issue, but I'm almost certain now that it's an OS X issue (not bluestacks, parallels, or windows). I have tried using vmware fusion, virtual box, all the different windows versions (7 through 10), and many different bluestacks versions. Also, I would prefer to not have to use Bootcamp Assistant, as I only have a 121 GB Hard Drive and I would like to run bluestacks in windows and mac applications simultaneously.

I tried another couple of different combinations, and actually was able to get it working again! It's very funny how I hadn't been able to get it working for the past month and a half, but was able to the day after posting this.

May I ask how you got this to work without crashing. My problem is similar. If i ran bluestacks on my Mac and want to then run VirtualBox to virtualise windows, i always have to restart otherwise my Mac crashes.

Bluestacks is an emulator. Bluestacks probably is not able to store data from the app to the PC. Bluestacks has no internal storage in itself as far as I can determine so there is no place you can send a file using the File control.

Hello, good day to anyone reading this.
I have made an app that reads information from a file thats being written by a Python code.
The python code extracts information from Google Calendar and then writes certain things to a regular txt file.
Now to run the Mit App i need an emulator for it to run on my laptop, but here comes the problem.
I can edit wthe file with Python no problem there BUT i do not know how I can make the app read that specific path to the file. I know where its located, i have found the sdCard folder but whenever i go into bluestacks i cannot find it when i check the internal memory. All i need is for the app to read an external file, thats located in bluestacks named 'test_text.txt' there is a shared folder with windows and in there i can see and edit the file in question. I just need the path to that file for the appmaker.
This is what it all looks like in the blocks

This is the bluestacks file location

Iv looked everywhere on the forum and internet, cant find anything.
All i want is for the MIT app to read from the sharedfolder file in bluestacks from windows.
I use the regular file block to READ from an external file of the app itself.
There is a shared folder within bluestacks, in that folder is a txt file that i want to READ in the app.
How do you find that path to put into the app?
Everything i tried says that said directory doesnt exist

The app does what it needs to do, i just need to be able to read from a more specfic file, then /thisfile
but everytime i try a path that should lead to the shared folder it says that the file couldnt be created, i assume this is because the path is incorrect. When i do just /testfile it works just fine but i cannot find the path to the normal sd card interface for python

the last file you see n this list is the file that the app reads and edits.
I need that file path for python OR i need to be able to read from the shared folder in this menu

The txt file is the file i imported to bluestacks SD storage so i could test it. The file i NEED to use is located in the shared folder of windows and bluestacks and is accesible through both. The file is already there by default and is deleted when i press button 1 and immediately recreated because i need that file empty.

I have the AC app on my iPhone. On the iPhone, if I select Chart, ActiveCaptain automatically brings up my LakeVu g3 map of Lake Murray, SC. Also, if I launch Navionics Chart Viewer on my PC, Chart Viewer brings up my map of Lake Murray. However, if I launch ActiveCaptain on the PC and go to Chart, I get a blank yellow screen. In essence, a blank map.

Sorry to hijack this question.. Could use some help though I cant get it to load past the splashscreen, but I am using windows 11 android subsystem. Did you do anything special on bluestacks to make it run?

HI I would like some thoughts on bluestacks.com I would like to try out the emulator and see if I can play games on my laptop. I would really like to play wheel of fortune on bluestacks if I can but I have never used bluestacks emulator to play games on my windows 11 laptop before. So I was just looking for some options on if it is a good idea to use bluestacks to connect to my google account and get games from the google store to download games to bluestacks. I was just wanting to now if this is a safe thing to do since I have never download an emulator before to play android games on my windows pc. I have never owned an android phone I have heard of android phones though. I was just curious what people have to say about downloading bluestacks emulator and downloading games from the google play store is it a good idea to do this on a windows 11 laptop. Thanks. waiting for information and Answers.

Installing Bluestacks on VPS/VDS RDP can be challenging, since Bluestacks is designed to run on desktops and has no official support for server environments. However, in some cases, installing Bluestacks on VPS/VDS RDP on Windows Server may be possible.

These are just general guidelines, and the actual requirements may vary depending on the specific apps or games you run on Bluestacks. If you have access to a more powerful VPS/VDS RDP server, it may be helpful to ensure sufficient resources for Bluestacks.

Wait until the installation of the package is complete. After successful installation of the framerock inside the virtual server system, you will need to download the Bluestacks 4 installer from the official website at

It is important to note that Bluestacks was designed to run on desktops and can consume significant CPU and memory resources. On VPS/VDS RDP there may be restrictions on allocating such resources, so the performance of Bluestacks on the server may be insufficient or cause problems with other applications on the server.

The remote desktop protocol is an approach to accessing windows from a remote area without really accessing your device from its actual location. Moreover, the users using the remote desktop protocol can utilize their windows platform anytime and any place they want. The remote desktop protocol is a product from Microsoft Corporation. The protocol came in to deliver the windows server at residence. Using the remote desktop protocol is easy. It is as comfortable as hitting an icon to control your Windows from any other external computer or smart device. The remote desktop control also enables you to share the mouse and keyboard activity with the remote device. Users accessing the remote desktop control can access the Windows/ computer as if they are working on the same computer. It creates an exact ditto environment to work on. The significance of RDP has made it popular among users.

I want to know which size of VM should I create that runs bluestacks with high performance and is the cheapest option while selecting the VM Size. I want to select cheapest VM that satisfies requirements for bluestack.
