All of us at Ruthie's Table 4 are delighted to announce the return of Season Three of the podcast launching next Tuesday 17th October! Until then please enjoy the re-broadcast of this interview with Ed Ruscha.

Welcome back to season three of Ruthie's Table 4! We've got a great group of people ahead but we are going to start the season with a good friend, a great director and a great lover of food, Wes Anderson.

I have a few philosophies in life, one of which is to always say yes to Wes Anderson. Ruthie, should we get a sheet from upstairs cupboard and screen Fantastic Mr. Fox outside in the garden tonight? Yes, Wes. Ruthie, shall we try again for the fourth time to make a perfect Bellini? Yes, Wes. Ruthie, how about if we invite all the kids and friends and watch Grand Budapest Hotel before it opens in your living room in London? Yes, Wes. And most recently, Ruthie, I'd be happy to do a podcast with you but, could we do the interview by emailing questions and answers back and forth to each other over a few days or weeks? Yes, Wes. So, here we are, Wes Anderson with Wes Anderson. A little strange, but as always, I said yes.

Pablo Boczkowski, who holds the Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani Chair In Communication at Northwestern University, together with Facundo Suenzo, doctoral student at Northwestern and executive producer of this podcast, invite you to discover the journeys of scholars who are at the cutting edge of creating knowledge about Latinx and Latin American communication across the Americas.

It seems like in Briggs's latest stream, he said he's feeling like rant cafe is heading towards a hiatus :( It has been feeling that way for a while now. Nux is barely on the pod and even Animak seems to progressively be more busy. Perhaps their huge growth brought on more responsibilities and thus less time to dedicate to rant cafe.

I feel like the only remedy to this situation is to sadly bring on new hosts who carry a passion for anime and are down to watch even newer series. Easier said than done cuz this is their podcast after all. It would be nice to have a podcast about anime again. Downside ofc is that we don't have the dynamic of nux, briggs, and animak but sometimes changes can be good. What do you guys think?

Have you ever thought how important open data is in today's world? Are you curious about its practical applications and the challenges around it? Would you like to know what's coming next in the world of open data? Well, you are in for a treat with our six-episode podcast series on data.europa.eu! Grab your coffee or tea and join us at the 'Open Data Cafe' podcast.

To this final episode of the podcast series, we invited Daniele Rizzi, who served with the European Commission and recently retired after decades dedicated to advancing European efforts in promoting data supply and re-use. In this episode, he takes us on a quick journey through nearly 20 years of data strategy and regulatory history and shares his insights on what the future holds.

To kick off this podcast series, we invited Stefaan Verhulst, co-founder, Chief of Research and Development, and Director of the Data Program of the Governance Laboratory in New York City. In conversation with our host, Gianfranco Cecconi, he introduces the concept of open data and discusses the various waves that have transformed open data over time, namely freedom of information, civic tech and the potential application of generative AI.

Hey Caffeinators, welcome back to another episode of ... the Veterinary Viewfinder?! That's right! If you've been listening to us the last few months, and the Veterinary Viewfinder podcast as well, we've both been dropping nuggets back and forth about how we handle all their complaints and they record in our basement and pick up your tab in the Taproom. It's all in good fun as they have been so kind and helpful to us over the years with advice and honestly just a good model to follow on how to do this. They reached out a while back to see if we wanted to do a mashup and of course we did! We got to know them a lot better, and them for us much the same, and just had a really fun conversation about who we are, what we do, and why we do it. Definitely check this one out-it was a lot of fun to head down to the basement for this episode. We really liked what they've done with the place. Make sure to follow the Veterinary Viewfinder!

Tim Nguyen has a wonderful podcast called the Cartesian Cafe, where he interviews for an extended time people on a technical topic. Some people he interviewed include Scott Aaronson, John Baez, Tai-Danae Bradley, Sean Carroll, Richard Easther, Alex Kontorovich, Po-Shen Loh, Grant Sanderson, Daniel Schroeder, Ethan Siegel, Greg Yang, and John Urschel.

Recently, Tim interviewed me about cryptography. You can find the discussion on youtube, apple podcasts, or spotify. (In the video version, we used an ipad as a whiteboard, so that may be the most useful one.) A lot of it is based on my notes at intensecrypto.org.

The team also wants to be heavily involved within the community. The cafe can be rented out for private or group events. So far, they have hosted live musical guests and even had a slam poetry night at the cafe. They hope to continue on with a weekly live event.

We're practicing social distancing as we record this podcast via the interweb. It's a first for us but we're making it work! We're all in this together and you can still enjoy your coffee. So grab a cub and join us.
