Some questions about remote reciving

So I have 2 android phones.  One of those waterproof gzone ones, and my personal phone.  I'm trying to remotely view the gzone so I can watch stroke rate of a boat while driving a launch.  However it doesn't seem to come up.  Is there a step by step guide I can follow to make this work?  The one on Talos' website is a bit vague.

Recent versions have stopped working on the Motorola defy. Any ideas why?

1. What version of Talos Rowing are you using currently?
2. What Android version does your Defy have?
3. At what stage of the application launch/use does it stop working?

Much clearer!  Still doesn't seem to work.  I'm 90% sure it's my personal phone (LG Lucid).  The accelerometer doesn't seem to work with it when I try to row.

It is android version 2.2.2

Latest version of Talos

It appears to start ok. But doesn't detect any movement.

John, can you please install Talos Rowing from the following URL - I have changed the Android target parameter:

You don't need to test on the water - it would be enough to launch the app and wave the device around and see either any movement is reflected in the real-time graphs. It will ask either you want to reset your parameters - please choose yes.

Em.. The fact the accelerometer does not work may be a completely different Talos Rowing bug. Could you too try to manually install the APK I have sent John in a previous posting:

If the above APK does not work, can you try installing an earlier version of Talos Rowing (e.g. http://nargila.org/trac/robostroke/raw-attachment/wiki/AndroidRelease_0_9_5/TalosRowing-147.apk)?

Sorry, didn't work. Early versions used to work well. Not sure what has changed. Boatcoach still responds but isn't accurate. Fluctuates with the stroke rate..

Thanks for the feedback John. Can you try the attached talos-main-aligned.apk (also available from http://nargila.org/trac/robostroke/raw-attachment/ticket/140/talos-main-aligned.apk) - This version will start logging debugging information into a file 'talos-main.log' under the root of your SD card. When you close Talos Rowing, it will launch a mailer with the log file attached and my address - all you need to do is select the mailing application and press send (tested with the Gmail mail app).

If for some reason the log file is not created, please check that 'Talos Rowing' -> menu -> misc -> 'Create Log' is selected.
