Thank you all for your very quick replies, unlike a TV reality show I won't keep you waiting for the results.  

 

The decision is that we do not hold the event in 2021.  Sorry Stains the Couch but you are the only optimist in the group, no one else is confident enough to give the go ahead, myself included.

 

I deliberately didn't share my thinking before but I'd like to now.  Whilst there is a vaccine rolling out I don't believe it will be fast enough to allow a significant proportion of our overseas visitors to come and even if it is the cost and complexity of travel will mean we end up with a bunch of last minute cancelations.  All of which I believe will mean that we won't be able to put on the event that we hope to.  So I see 2021 as a no go.

 

When it comes to postponement or cancelation, I vote for the latter. This will put a strain on Mr Blow Job as Hash Cash to return what has been collected (thank you for the summary Cod).  But we have a lot of people's money sat in the bank account and if we are not spending it then I think we have to give it back.

 

That said the vote for cancellation / postponement was a lot more balanced with 5-4 in favour of postponement.  So we postpone.

 

I accept the decision but I have a problem in that I don't feel that I can continue to lead the effort.  I am very busy with work and have a number of other things going on personally that mean that I do not feel able to give the time or effort into organising something of this size.  If someone is willing to take over the lead then I will be happy to continue to contribute as HHHaberdasher and give any general assistance and advice where I can help.
