Antwerp city municipality commissioned these works in 2016 and can now start to redevelop the public space, transforming the grey car park area into green parkland, as cars now park underground.
The car park provides space for about 1,000 cars on four underground levels and has space for 125 bicycles on level -1. The spaces nearest the pedestrian exits on levels -2, -3 and -4 are reserved for people with reduced mobility. There are spaces for EV charging on all levels and the bicycle parking also offers an e-bike recharging service.
Q-Park house style and signature features are a guarantee of quality, they make parking pleasant and convenient as well as environmentally friendly. The customer experience starts at the access where visitors can see how many spaces are available on each level.
With a pre-booking, you can drive in and out of the car park with your number plate. You enter your number plate while booking. When you drive up to the barrier, the camera will scan your number plate and then open the barrier so you can drive in without taking a ticket.
Yes, there is a link at the bottom of your pre-booking confirmation e-mail to use if you need to cancel your booking. You can cancel your pre-booking up to 24 hours before the start time of your pre-booking. If you selected cancellation insurance when you pre-booked, you can cancel up to one hour before the start time of your pre-booking.
Yes, you may stay parked for longer than the scheduled end time of your booking. In that case, we will charge you for the extra parking time at the regular rate for that specific car park. We will charge you using the same payment method you used for your pre-booking.
No. You access the car park in the same way as other customers, but because you have pre-booked, even if the sign indicates the car park is full, your parking space is guaranteed. At certain times, large numbers of visitors arrive at a car park at more or less the same time, so please allow enough time to actually reach the entrance barrier. Q-Park cannot be held responsible for any time you spend waiting to reach the entrance barrier.
The 'gedempte zuiderdokken' were and are still a very well-known place in Antwerp. As in many large cities, there is the aim to remove vehicles from the streetscape, therefore the city decided to build two large underground car parks at this location: parking Steendok and Kooldok. Together they provide 2,000 parking spaces for cars and around 300 for bicycles.
First parking Steendok was built in 2020, and recently parking Kooldok was also completed. As one of Q-Park's preferred suppliers, this car park is equipped with WPS' advanced parking system.

WPS has equipped Q-Park Kooldok with our ParkID parking management system and associated ParkAdvance parking equipment. The solution includes a standard ticketing system, connection with Q-Park's PaaS system including cameras for number plate recognition (ANPR), floor counters and in addition the underground bicycle parking has been equipped by WPS with a paying entrance and exit. We have therefore delivered a complete mobility solution for Q-Park.
Met een reservering kunt u in- en uitrijden met uw nummerplaat. Deze geeft u op tijdens het reserveringsproces. Als u aankomt bij de parking, gaat de slagboom bij het in- en uitrijden vanzelf open, zonder dat u een parkeerticket hoeft te nemen.
Eerder inrijden dan het opgegeven tijdstip bij het reserveren is helaas niet mogelijk. Vertrekt u later? Dan kunt u bij het uitrijden of aan de betaalautomaat contactloos het restant betalen. Ga voor meer informatie naar onze pagina met veelgestelde vragen.
Tijdens het reserveren geeft u uw nummerplaat op. Bij aankomst in de parking herkent het systeem uw nummerplaat en zal de slagboom bij de in- en uitrit automatisch voor u openen. U hoeft verder niets meer te doen.
Als u eerder inrijdt dan de gereserveerde tijd dan wordt uw reservering niet herkend en betaalt u uw volledige parkeertijd tegen het in de parking geldende tarief.U kunt betalen aan de betaalautomaat of aan de uitritzuil.
Het is niet mogelijk om een reservering te wijzigen, maar u kunt deze wel annuleren door op de desbetreffende link in de bevestigingsmail van de reservering te klikken. Vervolgens maakt u een nieuwe reservering met de gewijzigde gegevens.
Jazeker. Onderaan in de bevestigingsmail van uw reservering staat een link waarmee u de reservering kunt annuleren. U kunt tot 24 uur voor aanvang van de reservering annuleren. Als u de optie Annuleringsverzekering heeft afgesloten, kan dat bovendien tot n uur van tevoren.
Jazeker. U kunt de parking na het gereserveerde voorziene vertrekuur verlaten. In dat geval wordt u een supplement tegen het in de parking geldende tarief aangerekend, op de door u aangegeven betaalwijze voor uw reservering.
Nee. U rijdt de parking binnen via de algemene ingang, maar bij reservering is uw parkeerplaats gegarandeerd, ook als de borden aangeven dat de parking vol is. Sommige parkings kennen op bepaalde tijden een grote toestroom van voertuigen. Plan daarom voldoende tijd om de inrit te bereiken. Q-Park kan niet verantwoordelijk gesteld worden voor de wachttijd voor de slagbomen.
Q-Park Belgium opened the prestigious Q-Park Steendok car park on 3 December 2020. This car park is part of a larger development including a park and another underground car park (Q-Park Kooldok), planned for opening Spring 2022.
All four underground levels have spaces for people with reduced mobility close to the pedestrian exits. EV charging is available on all levels and the bicycle parking area includes facilities for e-bike charging.
You can easily reach the museum by bike using the bicycle path along the Scheldekaaien, through Lakenstraat, or Vervierstraat. Due to ongoing construction works in the vicinity, we recommend planning your route accordingly.
Q-Park Steendonk Parking - Waalsekaai 69a, 2000 Antwerp, entrance via Namenstraat, exit via Verviersstraat. You can benefit from a reduced rate when combined with your museum ticket. Parking in the Waalsekaai and surrounding streets (zone AN131): You can use the parking meter located at Waalsekaai 27 or the 4411 parking app for payment.

Since February 1, 2017, the entire city center of Antwerp and the Left Bank (Linkeroever) have been designated as a low-emission zone. Vehicles that emit too much soot and fine particulate matter are not allowed to enter the low-emission zone. The FOMU is located within this zone. Please check in advance if your vehicle meets the admission requirements through this test.
Mandatory Registration: Vehicles with foreign license plates (except for Dutch plates) that meet the admission requirements must be registered once. Register your car here.

The European Parking Standard Award (ESPA) was established by the European Parking Association (EPA) to improve the quality of service provided by the parking industry to its customers. It should be clear that car parks complying with ESPA invite visitors to leave their cars in a reliable environment. The ESPA is awarded to publicly accessible car parks that meet a set of quality requirements to provide visitors with a safe and comfortable parking service.
Multiple ENS systems are implemented in both existing and new parkings. With the expertise of our team and thorough pre-assessement of different configuration possibilities, we are able to reduce the fine dust concentrations inside the parking with at least 50%, contributing to cleaner exhaust air as well. Together we can reach the WHO-standards for ambient air quality.
