Hello, supporters of Talking Radical!

In the latest installment of my series of interviews about learning in, from, and for social movements, I speak with Jody Chan, a Toronto-based poet and care worker. These days, most of their organizing focuses on collaborating with other writers and artists to build a cultural front in support of Palestinian liberation: they are part of Toronto Writers Against the War on Gaza and CanLit Responds, which are two components of the No Arms in the Arts campaign. They talk with me about that organizing against the Israeli state's genocidal violence in Gaza, the importance of learning to be accountable to one another, and the power and limits of cultural work in struggles for collective liberation.

You can read the interview at The Media Co-op.

Meta is still blocking accounts in Canada from sharing links to news sources on Facebook and Instagram, so if you want to share it on either of those platforms you can use the Talking Radical link.

Also, like I mentioned in my recent email, the release of my new book, Listen! Knowing the World and Fighting to Change It, is coming up on Tuesday. There is an in-person launch event in Hamilton, Ontario, on October 23, a virtual launch event on October 28, and an in-person launch event in Sudbury, Ontario, on October 30.

Thanks for reading,
