Hello supporters of Talking Radical!
I have two new pieces out today that I want to share with you.
The first is an article headlined "Defunding the Police? Mayor Chow
Has a Choice" on the state of defund-the-police organizing in
Toronto. It is published in
The Grind, a print publication
distributed for free at 300+ locations in the Greater Toronto Area.
You can read it
online,
or the print edition will be available starting this weekend. (If
you want a link that is shareable on Facebook, check out
this
post on my own site that leads to the post on
The Grind.)
And the second is
the
latest in my occasional interview series with organizers
published by
The Media Co-op. I speak with Nina Newington, a
long-time activist based in rural Nova Scotia who has, over the
years, been involved in feminist, queer, environmental, and other
grassroots work, and most recently has devoted herself to forest
defense organizing. She speaks about her own path to learning about
the world and about organizing, and about resources that she finds
useful. (Once again, for a Facebook-shareable version, go
here.)
Thanks for reading!
