Learning from a student organizer in Halifax

Hello supporters of Talking Radical,

In my latest interview about learning in, from, and for social movements, I talk with Aaron Abogado. He is a printmaker and a student at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University (NSCAD) in Halifax. Abogado is also the president of the NSCAD student union and an organizer with Nova Scotia Student Strike, a province-wide, grassroots student organization describing itself as “Anti-tuition, Anti-war, Pro-Indigenous sovereignty, everywhere.” We talk about learning from Palestinian struggles, the power of student strikes, and the importance of organizing on the ground and not just mobilizing via social media.

There are a couple of things that I'm always on the lookout for. One is recent victories by social movements or other sorts of community-based or popular organizing, no matter how local or small. And the other is interesting people to interview for this series focused on learning in, from, and for social movements.
