Using Siri voice as voice over voice on Apple Watch issue

Hello all,
So I am having another weird issue. When I had my Apple Watch Series 5, I used the Siri voice as my voice over voice because I honestly just don't like the Samantha voice at all. Even when I updated this last time a small update came out nothing changed. So now, I traded in my five and got a six. I set up the six with my back up and unfortunately now I've only got the Samantha voice. I tried connecting the watch to its charger and charging it as well as charging the phone together all night. When that did not work to solve the problem, I reset the watch this time, I reset it as a new watch. Then I put it back on the charger after the reset was done and left it all night. Again Samantha voice unfortunately. So I went to the settings. On my phone I have the Siri voice turned on for the watch in the Apple Watch app. When I go to the settings on my watch, I click on the VoiceOver and then I click on Siri voice and it's turned off, even though on the phone it says it's turned on. So, I push it on the watch and turn it on then I lock the watch and when I unlock the watch again, even though it says on the phone that it is turned on, in the settings on the watch it is off again. This happens every time I turn it on on the watch. Still got Samantha voice. I have tried just about everything. I just don't understand why it keeps turning off on the watch and it hasn't worked. When I go to the Siri settings it just says that the voice is waiting to download and will start downloading when the watch is connected to a charger. I just need to find a way to get rid of this Samantha voice and get the Siri voice that I had before. This doesn't make any sense, has anyone else seen this issue on a series 6 watch? Any advice?

I never got this to work. However, you now apparently can add voices in VoiceOver settings on the watch. This was how I was able to add the SIRI voice for my watch.

Where do I go in the settings to do that? Is it on the phone, or is it on the watch? I would love to be able to do this. Maybe I’ve been doing it wrong I’m just not sure. If you could let me know how you do it that would be great.

You can do this from the watch app or the watch’s settings. You have to go into Accessibility and then VoiceOver. At the bottom of the settings is where you can add voices.

Thank you for the information. So when I go to my settings in the Apple Watch app, the only thing I have is add new rotor language. That doesn’t have anything to do with the voice because I even tried adding US English and lo and behold I still got Samantha. There doesn’t seem to be any place to change the voice. If you could explain to me exactly where to go in my settings and what exactly I’m looking for I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much again.

You have a rotor now on the watch. Just like the iPhone, turn the rotor to Languages and then flick up or down to change it. This is new in the latest iOS version.

OK so I got it to work.
Here's the deal.
You need to add the language that corresponds with the language your siri
voice on the phone uses.
So, for example, I had my watch set to use Australian English, but my
phone uses UK English for Siri so I could never get the Siri voice to
work.
I added UK english to the roter and now it works.
You of course also need the Use Siri voice checkbox checked in the
Voiceover settings.
There are a few downsides to all this:
1. Your choices appear to be the active Siri voice or the default voice
for that language. That's it. You can't say use UK Siri Femail if Siri
is using UK siri Male, or a different lower quality voice (e.g. Lee for
Australian English instead of Karen).
2. There seems to be no way to change the default language. So using the
above example, I can't get UK English to be my default voice. This
matters if you are likely to get text in other languages to be spoken by
Voiceover, as it won't auto-switch unless you are using the default
language. Note that this is how the phone and iPad acts, I'm assuming the
watch is the same.
Given the significant storage space on Apple Watches these days, I think
that Apple should allow us to be more flexible with voices and install any
available voice and set it whichever way we wish, just as we can on their
other devices.
Note: I'm running WatchOS 7.1 beta, so your milage may vary.

Yeah. Remember this is the watch, so I think as the software progresses, it will be more like the phone or the Mac.

OK I can add a bit to what I said yesterday.
The only way to set the default Voiceover language on the watch it seems
is to change the watch language. Note that this is not the same as
changing the region, you can have the region set to one thing and the
language set to another.
So if the watch language and the Siri voice language (not recognition
language) are all set the same, you can use a siri voice when the language
roter is set to default language.
One other thing. My wife uses male British English for Siri but female
English for Voiceover on her other devices. She wanted to use female Siri
for Voiceover on the watch. So we tried changing the Siri voice on her
watch to female.
This caused the watch to download the female Siri voice. It also caused
Siri to use the female voice on her watch and her phone. But Voiceover
was still using the male Siri voice on the watch, and nothing we tried
would change that.
We ended up setting Siri back to male, deciding that the male Siri voice
was an improvement on what she'd had before.
Looks like it needs some work.
