Subject: talkingapple Mail Send command on Mac.

hello guys,

I finally got around to updating my Mac two days ago. I completely skipped OSX 10.13 High Seirra. However, I had two issues. One issue is that when i use Bootcamp to switch to Windows. After i used Windows, and it is time to boot back to Mac OSX, it says can’t find Boot loader, So i would restart and hold down the options key and boot to the OSX that way. Have anyone else encountered this problem? I have to put in my password before it will boot to Mac OSX.

The second thing is when I use the Maill app, I use the command to send with the keyboard. I use the command + shift + D key to send. But now, it says Send again. Under the menubar, under Messages, it says the keyboard command is the send again command, where is the normal send command for the keyboard?

Thanks guys!

Daniel Hawkins

Hi both

I’ve got that thing with send again as well.

I’m also having terrible trouble with voice-over in Mojave in general. I’ve emailed Apple Support and I’ve spoken to the helpline and I’m no further forward.

I have two accounts on my MBP. An administrator account and general user account. The administrator account seems to be working relatively normally. However, the general user account is a nightmare.

I keep changing all the voices options for voiceover to Alex, but just about every time I login, it’s changed back to Daniel, or a mixture of Daniel and Alex and I have to start all over again.

The other thing it is doing is when I read down a list in a table, or read a dialog box, or try to read across the menu bar, it misses out almost every other item. It’s not skipping direct from one item to another it’s stopping at the item but not saying anything. So, the menu bar might read mail file nothing view.

Obviously, I could just use my administrator account, but that rather defeats the object of having one in the first place.

Anyone got any ideas?

Best

Adrienne

I’m afraid I have no idea, it almost sounds like a hardware problem. I have not encountered anything quite so troubling over here, the most annoying thing I run into is the menu extras occasionally not reading properly, but that’s very inconsistent. The mail “send again,“ is harmless, and seems to be just cosmetic.

Hi

Yes, the send again thing is harmless, but the other problems are getting worse. I wouldn’t have thought it could be hardware, as I suppose that would affect both accounts.

Oh well, sometimes these things settle down themselves.

Best

What the matter with Daniel voice? lol just kidding. Yes, I think the Send again is harmless. Basically, it is the same command.

Now, I found out on the Applevic.com to use Bootcamp to switch from Widows to Mac is currently broken. When Apple updated to High Serria in OSX 10.13, they changed the filesystem and now the current Bootcamp cannot reconize the Bootloader. Apparently Apple knows the problem, and from what i understand, they are not going to fix it. So, the best way to boot back to the Mac is to do the following. I used Aira to help me in this.

When you boot up your Mac, hold down the options key. When you hear the startup Dong, count to 10. Then press tab key once. Press enter. Then put in your password. Then press Enter, and it will boot to the Mac.

I may email Apple accessibility line on this due to this part of the process is not Voiceover friendly.

I am still getting used to this update. Other than those two things I talked about, so far it just comes down to figureing out a few differences.

OH! Almost forgot, to quickly change Voiceover voices rate, volume, pitch etc, that changed. Do you guys know the new command? Thanks!

Hi

If it’s what I’m thinking of, you used to have to do scontrol option command and now it’s shift control option command. I do’t know about you, but I find that key combo pretty difficult

Ha and now VO has completely ceased typing echo while typing this message.

Happy days

Hi all,

OK, I only have a moment, but I just wanted to say that this Boot Camp sequence you’re talking about is far too convoluted. I do this every day, and it’s very easy. Just hold down option, and either move right to go to Boot Camp, or go left to go to macOS. It’s very simple to switch from one system to the other, I have mine default set to boot to macOS, but the sequence is almost identical to boot to windows. There’s no need for any of this pressing tab or waiting for 10 seconds, or anything of the sort.

Do you have to put in your password? I have to put in mine before it boots up to the Mac. I said hold down to 10 seconds due to I don’t know how long it takes to get to the bootloader. how long do you hold down options at startup?
