Although my question is not Apple related, I need to pick your brains. I currently have a Humanware Voicenote and their new product is frightfully expensive. I am looking at the Orbit Reader which is considerably cheaper. I really have no idea what’s out there other than those two machines. Any help and/or recommendations you guys can offer would be appreciated.

Hi Barb:
Check out Access World, which is a publication of the American Foundation For the Blind. Scott Davert has regular reviews of many braille displays and notetakers in there. Also, he posted some info on the latest ones on a list called Deafblind techies. If I can find it, I’ll forward it to you, or post it here. HTH

Hi Barb:
So, you can just open your browser and type in the search field something like “American Foundation Access World.
Once you find a website that has all or most of those words, go in there, and look for an edit box or a search link. In the search, you can type something like Braille Displays, or even Scott Davert.
Hope this helps.

Access World is also available on NFB Newsline. If you let me know how you access NFB News Line, I can give you directions. Though I believe NFB News Line only keeps the two most current issues available.

Best wishes,
