The United States is one of the most prosperous nations out there, yet it consistently falls behind in global education rankings, what can be done about this?

From my perspective, the education system in the U.S. is too rigid because it is mainly focused on standardized tests. I believe that we should give creativity and creative thinking a bigger role in education, because at the moment the U.S. education system stresses the exact opposite and it is obviously not getting us the results we want. In addition, there is too much attention being placed on individual accomplishment, making us forget how important collaborative work could be to a student's overall development.

I think that the american school system cares more about money and data than it does students. The emotional well being of students are not taken into account when the government  created standards that schools need to follow. Students can not preform at their highest level if they have other things going on that are interrupting their  ability to learn. I think that if schools are provided with adequate amount of resources, like social workers and resource room teachers, american schools will be able to thrive and become as well as other counties.

Make students learn more than one language at early stages such as Pre-K and elementary. It'd be much better to learn and retain at those ages as apposed to college and high school. Also remove taking so many prerequisites of prerequisites in college, its a waste of time and money when you could be focusing on classes that do matter and will help you towards your actual career. do more technical programs that get the same recognition as a college degree.

The U.S. government has the ability to become a competitive country only if more resources are invested in education to all 50 states equally.  The investment would include a higher pay for teachers of at least $18 per hour or more depending on their education level.  Every school should have new or like-new books, buildings, computers, furniture, and supplies.  All schools need to be given the same amount of money as schools in Beverly Hills or other upper-class communities.  All children should eat for free because some children live in absolute poverty, especially; in inner-city neighborhoods where there is only 1 parent in the household.  After the basic needs of children and teachers are met, then next step is to help children gain the competitive edge.

By learning additional languages, children will expand their learning capabilities and prepare them for a successful career in Junior high school and high school.   In elementary school American children should learn how to speak up to 3 languages:  English, Chinese, French, German, Russian, Spanish or Swahili.  Their minds are capable of learning and retaining information more efficiently than adults.  Children will also learn and respect other cultures and customs to avoid stereotyping.  This new process will also give them more confidence to strive for higher grades.  Finally, our children and teenagers will achieve intellectual prowess in high school and college and the U.S. will be more competitive worldwide.
