I met Harley Byrd at his booth where he was selling things at a UFO
Converence
in Phenoix, Arizona more that 15 years ago. It sometimes seems like a
m-racle
that I have been led to meet most of the outstanding people in the UFO
investigating field. Harley is a very handsome well educated man. His wife
is a knockout also.
The following is a piece of information written by Harley.

The Valiant Thor Landing
The alien who visited the P-ntagon

Jill, Donn, Valiant
(JW You can see these picutures if you look on the web site mentioned.
One picture shows three people. The lady in the picture is called
Jill. She is a lovely lady who looks like a Powers Model. She serve as a
teacher aboard the large spaceship which is cloaked sitting of the waters
of Lake Mead, near Hover Dam. People who are accepted are alowed to go
aboard the craft and she teaches them about things in space and other things
such as the history of this Earth. Donn is a fellow companion of Vals and
helps him in his work. Valient is the space man who went inside our Pe-tagon
and stayed for quite a while.)
April, 1957
During the winter of 1956-57, the Washington, D.C. area was extremely
cold,
but it was a good feeling to be working in a high security position in the
Pen-agon. I lived only a short distance away in Georgetown, the old section
of the Nation's Capital. Senator J.F. Kennedy lived on "O" Street just a
block away from our house on Prospect.
During a successful tour with the U.S. Naval Ceremonial Honor Guard, we
had
met with astronauts Glen, Cooper, Waly Sherrar, who were the first wave of
successful space travelers. Also we had visited the Tomb of the Unknown
Soldier
numerous times. It seemed like every time a visiting dignitary came to
Washington,
they lay a wreath at the tomb.
We had met the Queen of England several times at the airport, as these
were
some of the duties I performed as a young officer in the Navy. After
carrying
the 2-Star flag at the funeral of my late uncle, Rear Admiral Richard E.
Byrd,
I was recommended for a s-curity clearance and was granted a Top S-cret
Clearance after a lengthy six-month background study (B1 complete 1957).
After
being transferred to the Chief of N-val Information (CHINFO), I worked in
the
Se-urity Clearance section before being indoctrinated into the branch office
of the Air F-rce called PROJECT BLUE BOOK. It was a joint service office;
that
is, two Marines, two Army, two Navy and three Air Force officers.
The work was routine, opening incoming mail, sorting out what was called
actual
sightings as opposed to many fake UFO photos. We also acted as a Public
Information Office (PIO), much like a public relations office. Every
publisher's
dream was to get the real low down on the UFO situation, which was
suppressed
by the group that dictated n-tional policy on the UFO matter.
In mid March, 1957, we received an urgent message from the Alexandria
Police
Department. The message indicated that two of their on-duty police officers
had
picked up an alien who had landed some 14 miles south of Pent-gon Boulevard,
and the occupant was transported to the Pentag-n to meet with the Under
Secretary of Defense and then shuttled underground to meet with P-esident
E-senhower and Vice President Richard N-xon. The meeting lasted for nearly
an
hour and then, the alien visitor was put on VIP status and was shuttled back
to the Pentag-n where he spent the night in the Army reception office on the
first floor near the concourse. This alien's name was Valiant Thor.
Commander J-mes was on duty at the Secu0ity Clearance and Review for the
branch
officer of the Project Blue Book. He oversaw the meeting through official
channels
and reported the landing and meeting of the "space emissary", as he was
labeled by the Department of De-ense, to a governing group of high m-litary
officials including Secretary of Defense F.F. Forestall and other scientific
men of which there were twelve. They in turn made recommendations to the
Pre-ident and Cabinet members, the C-A, F-I, N-A, and so on.
The landing of Valiant Thor was perhaps the first documented landing of a
human-type alien by mi-itary officials. He contacted an individual in the
Pentago- who was an advocate of the UFO alien situation. "Nancy W-rren" in
turn contacted a minister, who was also a private investigator and
theologian, a Dr. Frank E. Stranges, (JW I first went to hear
Frank talk about UFOs in the old Oakland orditorium. When he was coming out
of
the lecture hall and was in the elevator, I made that statement to him that
nearly everbody and his dog has taken rides of flying saucers. He then
responded
that the person who was next to him on the elvator had his dog with him and
both he and his dog had taken a ride on a space ship. Later on I heard
Frank
give a lecture at the Phoenix, Arizona UFO conference.) who then met with
this individual. Dr. Stranges had been a guest speaker at the National
Evangelistic Center for two weeks.
Val Thor landed in Alexandria and met with the Pre-ident to discuss the
world's problems and offer advice and counsel on how to deal with and
eliminate them. He indicated to Mr. Ei-enhower that the world was in a
precarious situation and that if the world continued to proceed on a w-r
footing - it would cause an economic imbalance throughout the world. Val
Thor (JW I sent two letters by mail to Val and the first letter was sent
back with
the words of Val through Frank. The second letter was sent back with the
words of Val
through Franks wife.) stayed on Earth until March 16, 1960, and then
disembarked to his
home planet Venus. (JW The last time I heard any more information about
Val, he
and his ship were on Lake Mead.)
He indicated that his r-ce of people lived and dwelled underground and
that many of the planets throughout the universe sustain life in this same
manner. He also mentioned the waves of aliens who would land around the
world to help with the Earth's seemingly insurmountable problems. He stated
that a group from a distant planetary system would be coming to give aid and
data to help the Earth's progress. Val Thor spoke of C-rist's presence in
the universe and that it was heartwarming to see Ch-ist's advanced teaching
continuing. This visitation at the Pentagon marks perhaps a new era in
knowledge, wisdom and understanding on our planet.

IT HAPPENED IN BROOKLYN! FLYING SAUCER CAFE LANDS!
FLYING SAUCER COFFEE & TEA BAR
They have landed in Brooklyn! For cappuccino, a bagel and
vegetable pot pie in an atmosphere and decor that will make visitors feel
at home. The Flying Saucer Coffee and Tea Bar landed on 494 Atlantic
Avenue, in Boreum Hill, in February 2000. Inside on two pillars are
pages from "Weird Tales," reproductions of a popular 1950's comic book
which illustrated famous UFO sightings, such as over Washinton, DC in
1952, the Captain Mantell crash of 1948, the Kenneth Arnold sighting over
Mt. Rainier in 1947, and more. There is also an alien clock (no missing
time here!), some alien figures, and a reproduction of a tin toy Rocket
Carousel. The backyard is being prepared for an outdoor eating yard
called Area 51. On a tree is the head of a hooded alien starring into the
cafe's rear windows. "I grew up on science fiction movies like Star Wars
and Close Encounters," said Julie Ipcar, the Brooklyn-born co-owner of
the place with her husband, John Brien, who moved from Dublin, Ireland
12 years ago. "My father influenced my interest. I've always been
fascinated with anything about space and now we have a place that reflects
that interest, with great bagels, coffees and food."
Like millions of other people since 1947, the couple saw a possible UFO
buzzing in the skies one night, "a maybe," Ipcar said. Ipcar and Brien
are also owners of the Last Exit, a popular public house opened two years
ago.
They felt that the neighborhood, near the Brooklyn Academy of Music,
downtown
Brooklyn and Cobble Hill, needed a coffee and tea bar with "good bagels and
coffee." The cafe is probably the first place of business in New York City,
as far as we know, that has the name "Flying Saucer" since the old "Flying
Saucer Book Store" in the theatre district on West 45th Street, between
Eighth
aand Ninth Avenues, which closed down around 1976. The kind gentleman who
ran
the store, who looked like "My Favorite Martian" without the antennae,
published
"The Flying Saucer News." The coffee, tea, and food are out-of-this-world,
with a house brew, espresso, cappucino, latte, moche, black and herbal teas.
Breakfast features bagels, muffins and bowls of granula. Lunch and dinner
includes a galaxy of goodies such as Sheperd's, chicken and vegetable
pot pies, lasagna, baked macroni and cheese, doubled stuff potatoes, quiche,
soup, salad, and a solar system of delicious desserts. Live music plays
on some nights, and the cafe has shown science fiction movies and has
programs
by close encounter researchers from SPACE. During the Summers of 2000 the
cafe
had MONDAY NITE MOVIE MADNESS In The Area 51 Garden, with free movies such
as
Plan Nine From Outer Space. Alien, The Stepford Wives, Flash Gordon (1980),
Barbarella-Queen of the Galaxy, Army of Darkness, The Blob (1956), Blade
Runner,
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), and Communion, reported to be THE
FAVORITE of viewers at the cafe. *********************** The cafe's phone
number is 1-718-522-1383

RECOMMENDED COFFEE SHOPS: When visiting New York City, the Flyng Saucer
Coffee and Tea Bar should be your prime landing site. In Manhattan there are
many affordable coffee shops which we frequent which we give a four saucer
rating, where you can relax and enjoy good talk and food. Most are open 24
hours, excluding episodes of missing time. Here are some of our
recommendations:
(List Updated January 2004) ****Galaxy. There are two, one in Chelsea on
8th Avenue below West 19th Street (look for Budd Hopkins in the street, as
he lives nearby), the other in the theatre district, on 9th Avenue at
West 46th Street. ****Cosmic, at East 23rd Street and Third Avenue.
****
Moonstruck, across town in Chelsea at West 23rd Street at Ninth
Avenue, where the "Moonstruck Group" holds its monthly gatherings; there are
also Moonstrucks at Second Avenue & East 5th Street, on Third Avenue around
East 30th Street, and a new one on Madison Avenue at 37th Street.
****
Scotty's Diner, near Grand Central Station in Turtle Bay, on
Lexington Avenue just north of East 39th Street. ****Tramway, at the
corner of 60th Street and Second Avenue, with a view of the Roosevelt Island
Tram. ****Odessa, long in the East Village, on Avenue A between St.
Mark's Place and East 7th Street, across from Tompkins Square Park.
****Christine's, also long in the East Village, on First Avenue near

East Side. ****
Chelsea Diner, 7th Avenue between West 14th and 15th Streets. ****
Waverly Coffee Shop, corner of Sixth Avenue and Waverly Place, Greenwich
Village. ****
Viand Coffee Shops, Lexington Avenue, between East 78th and 79th Streets;
Second Avenue and East 86th Street. ****
Mars Club 2112, on Broadway across from the Wintergarden Theatre (where
"Cats" is took its last meow bow). Not a coffee shop but an experience that
combines a rocky ride to Mars, a Martian decore, and a selection of
delicious food (more than coffee shop price, but affordable). Watch for
those aliens walking up to your table and enjoy the shop. It's a great,
spacious place for groups and parties, with caverous tunnels. A book signing
reception for "From Elsewhere: Being ET in America" by Scott Mandelker was
held there. A Fond Farewell to Homer's Coffee Shop which closed down
suddenly
in Spring 2001 on West 10th Street in Greenwich Village near the Jefferson
Market. Harold Egeln went there since it opened in 1975, and starting in
1992 when SPACE was started, met many people for initial interviews and
great, affordable meals with the best coffee anywhere on Planet Earth.
Rating: 5 Saucers.
