I know there are a lot of smart people here, from all over the world.

I'm trying to track down info about a painting we've had for about 15 years.
I'm not ever sure when and how we got it.

Now that I have the internet, I realized I might be able to find out
something about it and the artist.

Denis-Paul Noyer.

I've been finding out some things about him, and he has watercolors and
lithographs, some for sale for up to $800.

The one I have, must be older and no longer available (for sale)- or at
least online anywhere. I don't know the name of it, but all the ones I've
found (with names) by him isn't it. Some have been similar to this, and some
more like "prints" (not paintings of scenes). One I recognized as having
seen before, Grecian Temple.

It seems to be ink and watercolor- print. Limited edition, and numbered.

I'm going to write to some websites that have his other prints for sale,
and see if I can find out more about it.

The picture is of a courtyard, with cobblestones, and buildings, and french
words over a door EPICERIE DROGEURIE (drugstore?) Which kind of contrasts to
the spanish looking cactus plants sitting on a bench in the forground.

I thought at first it might be a french painting of a scene in Mexico.
Of course, never having been to France, I can't say for sure there are no
cacti there.

Same here. Though I like taking pictures, and doing things with them on
the computer.

I've been trying to take pictures of the colored leaves, but my camera
lens automatically adjusts, and closes down from the bright sky. And loses
the color of the trees. If I take the picture quickly before it has a chance
to, it gets the colors more, but the sky is washed out.

The trees really looked all red and gold but they come out dark because of
the sky.

I was once looking at art for sale on ebay and there was one picture that
looked like a kid took a brown crayon and tried to draw a house. It was for
sale for $1200! I don't know if it got sold.

My daughter's boyfriend is a comic book artist (though he has a "real" job
to make money) and put one of his ink drawings on ebay and it sold for $100.

this is the painting (It looks a lot better, clearer than that, the light
was reflecting off the glass)

http://www.angelfire.com/zine2/sharing_dreams/images06/print3.jpg

It looks like ink and water color. Mainly light orange and green.

I just got to looking at it, and where it says "limited edition" wondered
about it. Others by this artists (newer ones) are selling for $375-800.

It's kind of odd, because the words on it are in french,(drugstore) but
it has a spanish look to it. Catus (cacti?) on a bench in front. Not that
I've ever been to France or Spain to know.

The place I wrote to about it hasn't answered yet.

At least I put on this post it's "off topic" (like nothing ever is
here?) so we won't get yelled at for this (LOL)

Same here, I'll take music over art.

I like most kinds of music, except maybe jazz.... it seems like everyone is
playing something different at the same time.

Lucky for me (and them) I've always liked the music each generation of my
kids liked. Because of this, I probably have kept up with it more than most
mothers (and grandmothers and greatgrandmothers. Though my grandson is only
one and not sure what he likes for music so far)

And, there's still a lot of music I'm not up on. My almost 16 year old
grandson (now in FL) just got a tatoo of a motto from the insane clowns (or
something) (LOL) His stepfather is a tatoo artist. I said (to the kid) "I
hope you still like this when you're 40" and he laughed.

I hear a lot of new music (and some I like) on Smallville.

Oh, speaking of music, and you being into it...

Back in the 80's there was a heavy metal group called MASS. One song they
did, I think was called "Holy One" (or "The Holy One") I used to have it on
a tape, copied from a tape by then one of my kids had (and no longer has).

I thought of this one day, and looked online and can't find anything
about them. The group or the song. It might have been just a Massachusetts
band, but they had a real tape that was out and played on the radio.

It was around the time of Warrant (Cherry Pie) because I used to get the
two groups confused.

Of course, putting "MASS" and "Holy One" in search comes up with all
sorts of religious music. Same with Amazon and such.

Not a big deal, just wondering if you remembered this? You must have been
a little kid at the time (LOL)
