good-humored entity giving logical, common-sense information" and
traveled to seminars and bought Lazaris audio- and videotapes. But they
started questioning their relationship with Lazaris after witnessing
Peny North's backbiting of some followers on the Lazaris Web message
board, Vollmer said. They thought she should have been above that
because of her close relationship with Lazaris.

PS BTW Sheryl, Deborah and others---might I suggest that if you want Katie
(etc.) to block you and not bother you anymore, you might want to start
replying to my posts (even with just one word or whatever) even if you don't
like them or have nothing to say.That way, she'd either have to block you or
risk the pain she (etc.) aparently experiences when reading my posts. She DOES
have me blocked, dontcha know.....

If you want the scoop on Katie Marilyn Vollmer, aka "Katie Dean" do a
google on Steve Brooks and Lazaris. Katie is a well know nut case and
Internet psycho. He seems to know Katie Dean all too well. Brooks
appeared to have threatened legal action against Katie Dean for
harrasement. Katie Dean says Brooks threatened to shoot her. Katie Dean
somehow always manages to bring out the best in a person.

Brooks says she's lying, one might come to the conclusion they are both
a bit unstable. Nevertheless, Steve Brooks seems to know where the
bodies are buried by Katie Dean. Most likely he'll be willing to spill

but his spiritual commentaries on certain issues and his meditations are
fantastic. I've had several life-changing experiences from his
meditations -- even to that of finally picking up and staying with ACIM.
Lazaris is no more a cult than this newsgroup is. Now of course I didn't
follow the guy around like katie/marilyn evidently did -- I simply ordered
his tapes. The way I heard it is that either katie or her husband did
something within the group and was criticized for it --- since then they are
on a vendetta - last year John wrote up something about how to know if a
'teacher" is a true teacher -- or something like that, he was posting it
about wayne of eots fame -- anyway, even katie admitted on the ng at the
time that lazaris fit the description of a true teacher where his followers
did not. Anyway, I think katie/ted got busted on something and so keep

Yeah, the cover story does not make much sense. Katie and Ted get
disenchanted with 12 years invested in Lazaris because Penny was
blasting people on a newsgroup? Give me a break! Does Katie/Marilyn
seem like the kind of person who would somehow be offended because
someone blasted people on a newsgroup? Too freakn' funny! That's kindda
like Hannable Lector complaining someone was eating a hamburger.
Power struggle in the Lazaris organization after Penny and her husband's
death. Katie/Marilyn lost. Motive revenge, not disenchantment with
cults. Somehow the Lazarisites have isolated her. So she's here

Katie Dean signed one of her post, "Katie Dean, AAFF" which is the
French Language Teacher's Association. Steve Brooks indicated he knew
her from California and the Bay Area and described her as a
"Berkley-educated feminist wacko," or something to that effect. As
unlikely as it sounds, this Katie Dean might well be the Katie Dean who
writes for Wired Magazine. The Durham, NC. address might just be Ted
Vollmer's home.

Yes, that is very true. On the other hand, Internet journalism most
likely, is not that vulnerable. Some like Steve Brooks has the scoop. If
its the same Katie Dean, I would imagine there would be many people who
would want to log a complaint with Wired Magazine. But then again the
homework would have to be done, so the charge could not be easily dismissed.
