I am in week 8 now. I find it helpful to keep me focused in continuing to
downsize. I think back to the time I was in my early 20's, and I wanted
nothing....I thought owning a piece of property was insane, I thought that
having a lot of 'stuff' was binding, and unnecessary. Then I went
unconscious, so it seems, because somewhere along the line I stuck to a mess
of cling ons. Whittling down is not so easy, but it is getting easier. As
I whittle, I know what I need for living, and what is excess that will
prolly only be looked at when I need to deal with it.
I believe this accumulating too much stuff has come out of 'thinking' and
thinking in an undisciplined fashion such as thinking in miniscule
abundance! Random thoughts... They are very dangerous, if I want
simplicity. I love them that I have found out I don't need random thoughts,
like I thought I did need them. If I don't think them, they won't show up
needing my attention, in more ways then just one thought. It has taken
zillions of thinking to clear through thoughts that have materialized.
Thoughts that have had to be tumbled and sorted to get to the core of what
suits.
~Deborah
I too have more stuff than I need - but I must
want it because it is in my life LOL. I keep
giving stuff away and more keeps flowing in.
Interesting about thinking -- you may be
right -- certainly stilling the mind has to
manifest in more stillness around us.
I am in the middle of a project with my
clothes. I am determined I WILL empty
a large portion of my walk in closet out
within the next month. Perfect time of year
to "shed" some of my leaves ;-)) Will let
you know how that goes. Hope you continue
to enjoy the work.

Oh the clothing part.......... good luck.. I am in good standing in that
department. :) yay.. I really weeded down because I found I like to wear
the same things all the time and when I bought new items, the discarded ones
rarely got used again, except the favourites that I wore until thread us do
part. Again, the kept unworn clothing were thought in my mind...
entertaining thoughts.
Space feels great. Then I started 'thinking' heh heh, that we are such a
strange culture. We live in places with many rooms, we fill up with stuff,
and furniture to sit upon and laze upon, and t.v.'s to watch, computers to
sit at, books to read ..... so why don't we have rooms that are empty that
we can roam in......... play in, wrestle for fun in, dance in.......
meditate in.... play badminton in.... lay on the floor and draw in.... make
love in all over the entire room, jump around in... play marbles in...
let the kids rip snort about in.
Our peoples wouldn't be so over weight and our minds wouldn't be so full of
useless things.

I see in your post a lot of self flagellation.
I don't think it's necesary.
You are where you are because you were where you where.
In spite of the proclamations <here> that the past does not exist.
Your experience tells you otherwise.
Good Luck.
If she says "prolly" again, I think I'll find her and flaggelate her myself. What's up with
that? It's as grating as "yummers!" Ooops, sorry, don't tease the monkey, Katie!!

> In spite of the proclamations <here> that the past does not exist.
LOL..it's true. If the past does not exist, then neither does her accumulated debris.
So what is troubling you Chuck?
You hang around taking a lot of swipes lately.

I don't know about Chuck, but your passive aggressive use of your mindrape of a religion to avoid
facing reality troubles me.
If this strategy of yours isn't a swipe, I'd like to know what is. Is this how you spend your
life, besides your time here on this newsgroup, making assertions about yourself, lording your
alleged "spirituality" over people, and then asking them what's wrong with them for not seeing
how holey you are?
No answer? No, of Curse not. ACIMites never take responsibility for yourselves.
Disgusting!
Nice diversion, ~Deborah.
> You hang around taking a lot of swipes lately.
Is that what you see me doing?
I'm actually in a celebratory mood, paying attention to freedom
expressed and realized.
Isn't that what your post was about in part?
No diversion on my part. However, thanks for the celebration.

Duh.

lol

We use different dictionaries. No surprise here.
> However, thanks for the celebration.
How could you mean this if you lol about it? Or were you lol-ing about
something else?

Most articulate. I'll bet you would be nominated for mayor of
Duhsville and win the election without challenge. Have you considered
a career in politics?

Could you clarify what you are lol-ing about?
Or would you rather hide behind some non-specific response so you can
mask your intended meaning?
