Under pressure from the Baha'is, the chief editorial team of the Independent UK decided not to go ahead with the interview, an experience many Bayanis have continually experienced with the Anglophone press as well as academic world. In 2020 the journalist Alice Moldovan (ABC Australia), after her editors were pressured by the Baha'is from behind the scenes, was summarily removed as the editor of the Religion and Ethics section of the ABC online because in an article about Qurrat'ul-Ayn https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-10-29/tahirih-persian-feminist-pioneer-bicentenary-birth-bab/11632198 published in late 2019 she mentioned the existence of the Bayani (Azali Babi) community.
