Well ... I guess it's OK, but it DOES put Romania in
the Russian cross-hairs.
Moldova - nice-enough place apparently, but something
like 2/3rds of the population has LEFT over the past
couple decades. There's nothing there, nothing to do,
no upward path - cows and crops. In some respects it's
trapped in 1899. An odd little slice of a country.
Technically landlocked - like 100 feet of Ukraine
separates it from a sea route.
The relevant region is on the border of Ukraine.
The other Russian relevance is that the border
is VERY close to Odessa.
