The Saudis Have a High-Stakes Plan to Win the Global Oil War

The Russians may have started the price war, but Riyadh was waiting for
the opportunity to jump in.

Tee hee. "The global oil war." This is like watching Serious Businessmen

buggy-whip market in 1909, well *after* the Model T is prowling about
and the writing is on the wall. Just replace "1909" with "2020", update
the business attire to match, and decrement the "T" to an "S" ...

OK Paul, now take your hand out of the Nads puppet and put it up the
Kensi puppet to respond. Rinse, repeat.

For sure, Saudi and Russia picked THE WORST possible
moment to have their little gas war. :-)

With 20% of the global population still on lockdown more or
less, demand for petroleum is likewise reduced. Russia and
Saudi HAVE it - but nobody NEEDS it right now. All the fuel
tanks are full to capacity. They may as well just keep the
stuff. For all intents and purposes it has a NEGATIVE value
right now.

there's a story of two very prominent 19th century businessmen who made a fortune after they were shipwrecked and survived on a dingy at sea. fortunately, while they were on the dingy they made 14 million dollars by swapping hats often enough.

Musk speaking alongside former Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Enda Kenny in 2013
Politically, Musk has described himself as "half Democrat, half Republican" and "I'm somewhere in the middle, socially liberal and fiscally conservative."[268] In 2018, he stated that he was "not a conservative. I'm registered independent [and] politically moderate."[269] Prompted by the emergence of self-driving cars and artificial intelligence, Musk has voiced support for a universal basic income;[270] he additionally backs direct democracy.[271] He has described himself as a socialist, but "not the kind that shifts resources from most productive to least productive, pretending to do good, while actually causing harm" – arguing instead, "true socialism seeks greatest good for all."[272] He supports targeting an inclusive tax rate of 40%, prefers consumption taxes to income taxes, and supports the estate tax, as the "probability of progeny being equally excellent at capital allocation is not high."[273]

That's pretty stupid. With things shutting down and

gasoline if going to be reduced drastically. Supply
will skyrocket because demand is in the toilet.

Woe is you...

I've cut down on my TP usage to two squares per wipe,
whereas I used to wad up about a foot at a time for
a wipe, and one roll has lasted me two weeks. I have
27 rolls still in stock so, at the current rate of use, that
should last me about a year.

False: it pulps well. Reinforced paper such as kitchen wipes
or baby-type wet-wipes won't pulp. I have heard of a certain
kind of colonial who, using dismembered T-shirts to wipe with.
That is very definitely non-flushable.

Koala skin with fur is good but also non-flushable. You wash it till it
gets too daggy then you go out and get another one

I heard that in Merkadia the bears use rabbits, but we
use goose necks (apparently the Queen uses swans).

Geese are also good for chimney sweeping: chuck one in
the chimney-pot at the top and collect it (and a ~lot~
of soot) at the hearth.

Never quite figured that out. If the shit doesn't stick to the rabbits
fur how would the bear get a good wipe?
