Deport them or shoot them. A border fence properly patrolled would be
the least costly and only minor blood spilled.

You got the wrong idea. Just throw open the borders. And since
California has so much more money than sense, they should just pack
that money into bales and truck it to central Mexico where it's
scattered around the ground. "Undocumented Mexicans will soon arrive
by the millions to scoop it up. THEN put up the fence.

And I love the idea that we are all Californians whether we have
papers or not! Hey, *I* don't have California papers, but you know,
in my heart I'm still a Californian. I WANT MY SHARE OF THAT MONEY
TOO!!!

The only Mexican land the US paid for fairly was the Gadsden Purchase. All
else was stolen at gunpoint - California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.

Stolen? You mean purchased with the blood of American's soldiers and
sometimes citizens. Not such thing as stolen in war. Victor's spoils not
contraband.

Not quite. We bought some, and traded for some. It started with Manhattan
Island. Those fast talking smoothies sold us land no one had ever occupied.
The sellers lived nowhere near.

Why bother? Many Mexicans are coming here now. It won't be too much longer
until they're a majority in some states.

Except that they denote where nations exist and mark the territory over
which they can exercise control. Which control includes allowing or denying
entry from outside.
Sure in 1,000 years it may not matter, but now, today, it does.

"Own" is a bad word to use in this context. 'Controlled' might be better,
but no one bothered to control an island of nothing but salt grass. Control
would only matter if there was anything there of value. The gringos only
wanted it because it offered a modicum of security away from the mainland.
The Indios had no use for it.

That's silly bullshit. Mexicans, Comanches and other Indians lived there
way first. They ruled until they were outnumbered by Austin's trash from
back east. He promised land far beyond his land grant from Spain's Phillip.
He did it purposely in order to outnumber Mexican constabulary. They were
allowed to stay on if they:

1. Renounced Protestantism and became Catholics

2. Renounced US citizenship and became citizens of Mexico

They did both.

When the double turncoat rabble outnumbered Mexican military assigned to the
area, they:

1. Renounced Catholicism and became Protestants

2. Renounced Mexican citizenship and became citizens of the US

They did both, and should have been shot on sight by either side. They were
all proven traitors and turncoats - FOUR TIMES!

Yes, they do indeed have a right to be here. On that we can agree.

But they also have the obligation to pay taxes just like the rest of the

<Piggybacking on Hornblende since the prior post was probably killfiled>

And the "Mexicans" who lived there were part of the Glorious Revolution.
Lorenzo de Zavala was our first VP. And, while you're at it, the
Comanches weren't "native;" they moved in from the north in historic
times (post-horse) and beat the crap out of the Tonkawas, Coahultecs,
and Apaches.

It doesn't make any difference now, but at least learn history if you're
going to spout off on it.

Kinda hard to know much about Indians. They didn't have a written language.
