You obviously didn't watch the video. Every male adult keeps the
weapon they receive while there were in the military.

You try to rob a Swiss house and you have a real good chance ending up
dead. The risk is just too high. So crime is lower.

"Able-bodied men have to serve in the military and are issued with
assault rifles or pistols. They are allowed to keep their weapons and 50
rounds of ammunition at home during military service -- which generally
goes to the age of 30 or even longer -- so that the army can be mobilized
at short notice. Many men buy their weapons after they finish their
military service, and the arms are often stored in unsecured closets,
attics or cellars."

http://www.spiegel.de/international/europe/0,1518,480545,00.html

So how do you get "every male adult" from the fact that some men do buy
their service weapons? Cite your source.

"Around 300 people are killed in Switzerland each year in incidents --
mostly suicides and family murders -- involving army guns. According to a
25-country survey by the British-based non-governmental organization
International Action Network on Small Arms, Switzerland's total number of
gun deaths, including accidents, in 2005 was 6.2 per 100,000 people --
second only to the US rate of 9.42 per 100,000.

"The country also has an unusually high suicide rate, at 19.1 suicides
per 100,000 inhabitants, according to a 2005 study by the country's
Federal Health Office. The rate is well above the World Health
Organization's global average of 14.5 and the European Union's rate of
14.1.

"And although experts agree the high suicide rate has many factors, many
feel that the ubiquity of guns certainly plays its part. "Easy access to
suicide methods, in this case firearms in Switzerland, ... contributes to
a high rate," Vladeta Ajdacic, a sociologist at a psychiatric hospital at
Zurich's university, told the news agency Reuters."

> You try to rob a Swiss house and you have a real good chance ending up

The YouTube video cited by the initial poster in this thread, proclaimed
that SWITZERLAND HAS THE LOWEST CRIME RATE IN THE WORLD, thanks to having
lots of gun owners. In fact, the Swiss intentional homicide rate is
nowhere near the lowest in the world - and when you say "try to rob a
Swiss house and you have a real good chance ending up dead" you mean dead
by gunshot, don't you?

I posted a list of the countries who have lower intentional homicide
rates that Switzerland, which you obviously never saw. Here it is again:

Switzerland 2.26

> So crime is lower.

Then you'd better prve how Switzerland can have a relatively high
intentional homicide rate compareed to countries often castigated by US
gunlobby operatives, countries like the United Kingdom, Australia, New
Zealand, Japan, and France among many others.

Post your fucking proof that Switzerland has the lowest crime rate in the
world, or shut your ignorant tea-bagging mouth...

And have a merry little Christmas.

You've mixed apples and oranges. Not surprising from someone
fascinated with ball sucking.

An intentional homocide rate is different than the murder rate, for
starters. If someone breaks into your house and you kill him, it's an
intentional homocide, but it's not a murder or a crime on your part.
So the intentional homocide number would go up while the murder crime
rate would not be affected. Dumbass.

So the crime rate can be lower while the homocide rate is higher.

Now go back to your ball sucking. Or go suck an egg.

These are criminal statistics, so unless you claim that intentional
homicides which are legal are mixed in with intentional homicides which
are illegal, and you can prove it by providing factual evidence from more
than half the countries listed, you can shut the fuck up.

Care was taken in compiling the data. You have no evidence to suggest
otherwise, eh slick

> So the crime rate can be lower while the homocide rate is higher.

How many US murders can you find for 2008? How many justifiable
homicides can you find in the US for 2008?

What percentage of combined homicides is justifiable and what percentage
is criminal?

I have the stats in case you can't find them. You'll have to figure the
percentages yourself.

If you had bothered to take a look at the YouTube Video titled "Why
Switzerland has the Lowest Crime Rate In The World", it means because the
Swiss have lots of guns the crime rate is very low. And your "OP" used
the example of keeping military weapons at home and using them to kill
home invaders or burglars; but he failed to mention these weapons being
used to murder other persons living in the home and then used to commit
suicide by the murderer.

If Switzerland's intentional homicide rate isn't anywhere near the bottom
of world murder rates - and it's not - then where do you expect the
burglary, non-lethal assault and other violent crimes will be, compared
to the rest of the world?

WTF does the color of their skin have to do with anything? And
education? We have one of the most highly educated populations in the
world, and one of the highest violent crime rates in the world. As for
race, our crime rate seems to be dropping as our population becomes
more diverse. And many of the states with the highest violent crime
rates have the largest black demographics.

i'm not going to try to disprove anything.
(you do sound a little overboard, you know.)
have you lined up on the "correct position" on every "designated
issue" like a good little liberal?
without thinking too much about getting to the actual truth?
you're as bad as the consoivatives, if that's the case.

You couldn't disprove anything I posted if you wanted to.

Dismissed.

If by "crime rate" you mean total crimes, Switzerland is 31st, much
lower than many countries with draconian gun control such as Japan and
France.
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_tot_cri-crime-total-crimes
Since 31 is below the midpoint of the 60 countries listed,
Switzerland's total crime rate is LOWER than MOST other countries.
Your statement is false.

If you really meant murders, Switzerland is 48th.
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_mur-crime-murders
Switzerland's murder rate is MUCH LOWER than most other countries,
including most other European countries. Your statement is false.

I mean all crimes per capita. So the YouTube video that claims Switzerland
has the lowest crime rate in the world is wrong.
