Good grades and a few other criteria were needed back then to get into the
top schools but once there you could major in anything.
It was pretty easy to get good grades in a lot of high schools back then. I
went from a very good college prep boarding school to a local high school
and basically slept through my last year of high school.
(And NO, I did NOT GET KICKED OUT. They just asked that I not come back)

One of her explanations includes using class as a normal person would use
lecture.
One of them says that they needed a larger room for that (particular) class,
implying it was a guest speaker.

I'm never sure if she is just changing her stories to cover her ass or if
she just remembers things differently at different times.
But like Lucy in Peanuts, she is never wrong.

One of my favorite cartoons has Lucy explaining that the big black bug is a
queen bug.
When Charlie Brown notes that it is a piece of black fuzz, Lucy wonders how
a piece of fuzz got to be queen.

Yep, and she still doesn't admit her error.

And, given the time period she claims, I can believe that WvB did
attend to give a one-off lecture, he did a lot of that. However, every
lecture I can find record of was on his expert subject - rocketry.

That takes me back to my youth :)

She made it clear that she was not a student in the class but only
attended an open lecture by vB. She, however, will not admit that her
use of 'class' is incorrect.

Another example of her behaviou. If she said it, it is correct and
will never change. I don't have the cite but I recall somone pointing
out where she had claimed both sides of some fact which were mutually
exclusive and still maintianed that she was correct in both.
