QUOTE:
"I hate your opinions, but I would die to defend your right to express
them." This famous quote by the 18th-century philosopher Voltaire
applies to the debate currently raging in Ohio. The Board of Education
is discussing whether to include alternate theories of evolution in the
classroom. Some board members however, are opposed to Voltaire's defense
of rational inquiry and intellectual tolerance. They are seeking to
prohibit different theories other than Darwinism, from being taught to
students. This threatens freedom of thought and academic excellence.
Today, the Board of Education will discuss a proposal to insert
"intelligent design" alongside evolution in the state's new teaching
standards.
END QUOTE:
Then Senator Santorum wrote this editorial supporting the effort to
teach the Intelligent Design creationist scam in the public schools in
Ohio. Santorum had been deeply involved in supporting the "teach ID"
creationist political ploy, and had allowed Phillip Johnson to draft his
"amendment" to the No Child Left Behind" bill. The so called amendment
(called that by the ID perps) that was used to support the Wedge
strategy to teach IDiocy in the public schools ended up in the appendix
of the bill. He was not aware that the ID perps, at the Discovery
Institute, had already decided to run the bait and switch scam on the
Ohio creationist rubes, and that no one was going to get any ID science
to teach, and that it was the ID perps who had made the decision to not
give the students the alternative psuedoscience that they called
intelligent design theory. All that the students would get was the usual
creationist obfuscation and denial that the ID perps claimed had nothing
to do with intelligent design.
Wells, in his report on the Ohio bait and switch, claimed that the ID
perps had decided to run the bait and switch scam on the Ohio
creationist rubes before he and Meyer presented the IDiotic case to the
State Board of Education.

QUOTE:
Steve Meyer and I (in consultation with others) had decided ahead of
time that we would not push for including intelligent design (ID) in the
state science standards, but would propose instead that the standards
include language protecting teachers who choose to teach the controversy.
END QUOTE:
There isn't any doubt that up until Ohio the major push from the
Discovery Institute was to use IDiocy as the Wedge and get it taught in
the public schools, but when it came time to put up or shut up the ID
perps did neither and started running the bait and switch scam instead.
They may still claim to be able to teach the junk, but whenever there
has been a group of rubes wanting to do just that, the bait and switch
has gone down every single time. They claim that they have the ID
science to teach in the public schools, but all the IDiot rubes ever get
is the obfuscation and denial switch scam that the ID perps tell the
rubes has nothing to do with IDiocy.
The ID perps tried to run the bait and switch on the Dover rubes, but it
became the only time the ploy failed to stop the nonexistent ID science
from being taught because the Dover rubes had already obtained their
free legal service that was willing to defend the issue. The Dover
creationist rubes had followed the script that the ID perps had pushed
for years down to using Of Pandas and People to teach the nonsense.

You can still use this Discovery Institute link to download the teach ID
propaganda booklet that the ID perps used to give to the creationist rubes.
Teaching the Controversy:
Darwinism, Design and the Public School Science Curriculum
David K. DeWolf, Stephen C. Meyer, Mark E. DeForrest
The Foundation for Thought and Ethics
October 1, 1999
QUOTE:
9. Conclusion
Local school boards and state education officials are frequently
pressured to avoid teaching the controversy regarding biological
origins. Indeed, many groups, such as the National Academy of Sciences,
go so far as to deny the existence of any genuine scientific controversy
about the issue.(162) Nevertheless, teachers should be reassured that
they have the right to expose their students to the problems as well as
the appeal of Darwinian theory. Moreover, as the previous discussion
demonstrates, school boards have the authority to permit, and even
encourage, teaching about design theory as an alternative to Darwinian
evolution--and this includes the use of textbooks such as Of Pandas and
People that present evidence for the theory of intelligent design.
The controlling legal authority, the Supreme Court's decision in
Edwards v. Aguillard, explicitly permits the inclusion of alternatives
to Darwinian evolution so long as those alternatives are based on
scientific evidence and not motivated by strictly religious concerns.
Since design theory is based on scientific evidence rather than
religious assumptions, it clearly meets this test. Including discussions
of design in the science curriculum thus serves an important goal of
making education inclusive, rather than exclusionary. In addition, it
provides students with an important demonstration of the best way for
them as future scientists and citizens to resolve scientific
controversies--by a careful and fair-minded examination of the evidence.

My guess is that this 20 year anniversary will go unnoticed at the ID
scam unit of the Discovery Institute, but the bait and switch will still
go down if there is ever another group of creationist rubes stupid
enough to believe their current teach ID scam propaganda. It has gone
down for the last 20 years. No IDiot rubes have ever gotten the ID
science to teach in the public schools from the ID perps.
https://www.discovery.org/f/1453/
This is the propaganda pamphlet that the ID perps put out after their
loss in Dover, and it still has the old IDiot education policy on
teaching intelligent design in the public schools on page 15. The ID
perps have updated this propaganda pamphlet about every 3 years since
2007, but they never remove their old education policy even though they
have changed that policy on their current web site almost 10 years ago
(2013) when they had to run the bait and switch scam for a third and
second time on the Louisiana and Texas creationist rubes, respectively.
Both Louisiana and Texas had bent over and taken the switch scam from
the ID perps, but neither liked that switch scam and so the bait and
switch had to be repeated when the creationist rubes tried to put IDiocy
into textbook supplements. They were claiming that it was part of the
switch scam, and that they were not requiring teaching IDiocy, but only
providing teachers with the means to teach the junk if they wanted to.
The ID perps had to remind the creationist rubes that the switch scam
had nothing to do with IDiocy/creationism. There was a 2021 update for
this pamplet, but they seem to have reverted back to the 2018 version
when they recently modified the web page.
As sad as it may be, the ID creationist scam has been a tragic bait and
switch scam that creationists have been running on themselves for the
last 20 years. The ID perps keep selling the rubes the nonexistent ID
science, and all the IDiot rubes ever get is an obfuscation switch scam
that doesn't mention that IDiocy ever existed.
The only time the bait and switch scam failed to get the creationist
rubes to not teach the intelligent design science was the Dover fiasco
and that resulted in the federal court case that determined that there
was no ID science worth teaching in the public schools.
This is what Phillip Johnson said about the Intelligent design scam
after Dover. Johnson was likely the biggest IDiot cheer leader for
teaching the ID scam in the public schools, but he changed his mind
after Dover. Johnson had sat in the court room every day and was able
to understand that the IDiot science that he wanted to teach in the
public schools had never existed.
QUOTE:
I also don’t think that there is really a theory of intelligent design
at the present time to propose as a comparable alternative to the
Darwinian theory, which is, whatever errors it might contain, a fully
worked out scheme. There is no intelligent design theory that’s
comparable. Working out a positive theory is the job of the scientific
people that we have affiliated with the movement. Some of them are quite
convinced that it’s doable, but that’s for them to prove…No product is
ready for competition in the educational world.
END QUOTE:
QUOTE:
For his part, Johnson agrees: “I think the fat lady has sung for any
efforts to change the approach in the public schools…the courts are just
not going to allow it. They never have. The efforts to change things in
the public schools generate more powerful opposition than accomplish
anything…I don’t think that means the end of the issue at all.” “In some
respects,” he later goes on, “I’m almost relieved, and glad. I think the
issue is properly settled. It’s clear to me now that the public schools
are not going to change their line in my lifetime. That isn’t to me
where the action really is and ought to be.” Whether Dover really was
the swan song of intelligent design remains to be seen. Either way, the
decision has dealt a serious blow to the cause. The movement that Phil
Johnson started may just have run aground on the rocks of Padian’s
testimony. Or rather on the fossils in the rocks of Padian’s testimony.

After Dover, the bait and switch has continued to go down on any IDiots
too stupid and ignorant to understand that there is no ID science to
teach in the public schools. No IDiot creationist rubes have ever
gotten any ID science to teach. All any IDiots have ever gotten is a
switch scam that doesn't mention that IDiocy ever existed.
After 20 years of the bait and switch going down it should be time for
some reflection on the part of IDiots. Ex IDiots such as Kalkidas and
Bill should comment on why they remained creationist IDiots for years
after no IDiots were ever getting any IDiot science from the ID perps at
the Discovery Institute. Kalk and Glenn continued to go back to the ID
perps for the IDiotic junk for years, and Glenn still does that, so what
is the creationist explanation for doing something that stupid and
dishonest? Ex Senator Santorum needed to have the bait and switch run
on him personally twice before he quit the ID scam and went back to
being a plain vanilla creationist. It took the Dover bait and switch
fiasco before Phillip Johnson called it quits. When it was confirmed
that the bait and switch had gone down on the Ohio IDiots there was just
abject denial at the ARN IDiot discussion group. Mike Gene was the only
IDiot to comment on what had happened, and he just claimed that he had
given up on teaching the junk years before in 1999. Mike Gene had
attended the ID perp conferences and understood that the teach ID scam
that the Discovery Institute had been pushing to support their Wedge
political ploy was too bogus to amount to anything, and yet he still
continued to support the creationist ID scam along with all the other
IDiots at ARN who were in denial of reality.
Is it something that has to be personally experienced multiple times for
the reality to set in? The Texas IDiot rubes have had the bait and
switch run on them twice, but Louisiana had to have the bait and switch
run on them 3 times, but since 2013 (the last bait and switch run on
both states) neither group of IDiots have tried to teach ID in those
states. The Thomas More lawyer defending the IDiot creationists in
Dover understood that the bait and switch had been going down for years.
He even cited Ohio as an example, and yet he still wanted to support
teaching the creationist nonsense in the public schools. How does that
work?
QUOTE:
So that caused us some concern about exactly where was the heart of
the Discovery Institute. Was it really something of a tactical decision,
was it this strategy that they've been using, in I guess Ohio and other
places, where they've pushed school boards to go in with intelligent
design, and as soon as there's a controversy, they back off with a
compromise. And I think what was victimized by this strategy was the
Dover school board, because we could not present the expert testimony we
thought we could present

The More lawyer called the bait and switch a strategy, but it is just
the old bait and switch scam, you sell the rubes one thing, but only
give them something that they likely never wanted. IDiots should use
the link above and see how one of the ID perps from the Discovery
Institute was trying to lie about wanting to teach the junk. After
having the bait and switch run on him personally would the More lawyer
want to support teaching IDiocy again? We don't know because the bait
and switch has kept going down on all the creationist rubes that have
wanted to teach the junk, and there hasn't been a failure since Dover.
The movie Inherit the Wind was a commentary on the McCarthyism of the
time and creationism before the Scientific Creationist political ploy to
gain equal time for their religious beliefs in the public schools. All
the IDiot creationists expected to do was to inherit the wind of the
scientific creationists to teach their creationist beliefs in the public
schools, and that is all they got, but it turned out that the wind that
they had inherited was the scientific creationists breaking wind and the
stench is all that they inherited.
The bait and switch has been going down for 20 years. Not a single
creationist rube has ever gotten any ID science to teach in the public
school for the last 2 decades. How much longer will that go on? The ID
perps had updated their teach ID propaganda pamphlet in 2021, but they
seem to have reverted back to the 2018 version when they recently
updated the web page that it is on. They still sell the bogus notion to
the creationist rubes, but everyone that understands the situation knows
that they have no intention of ever giving the rubes any IDiotic science
because the ID science never existed.
Ron Okimoto
As a side note: I tried to look up why the bait and switch scam worked
in getting the rubes to bend over for the switch scam. Why has the bait
and switch scam, run by the ID perps, survived for 20 years? There was
a Psychology wiki entry with a simple explanation. The rubes accept the
switch scam as some type of compensation for not getting what they
really wanted. They do it to avoid the disappointment of not getting
what they wanted to get. That has to be a sadder commentary on what the
creationist rubes are subjecting themselves to by supporting the
creationist ID scam that has only been a bait and switch scam that
creationists have been running on themselves for the last 20 years. The
ID creation science never existed, so the creationist rubes don't want
to be disappointed in not getting any. IDiots and ex IDiots like Glenn,
Kalkidas, and Bill can likely tell us why they kept supporting the ID
creationists scam for so long after the bait and switch became their
reality.
