All things come to an end, and I will turn into a pumpkin when GG pulls the plug. Thanks for lots of interesting conversations. Plenty of informative conversations with the sane, and some very entertaining ideas from the less sane - e.g. the idea that God allowed the Epistle of James into the Bible only to serve an an example of what heresy is (Ray Martinez), "calm, global-like flooding," (Pagano), an endless supply of ways to hide dualist assumptions in yes or no questions about ever more bizarre robot scenarios (someone), even a guy who considers socialism to be not an economic system in which the State owns the means of production, but a failure to properly define subjectivity.

It's been fun. Thanks a lot.

Why do you consider google groups essential to participate?

Perhaps talk.origins could become a mailing list reflected onto the
newsgroup, like for example linux.debian.user ?

Sorry to see you go; you've been a voice of sanity here.
Enjoy whatever comes next. :-)

You certainly have the free will to quit TO if you want, but I hope you
won't. If you do, I'd suggest you look in to see what's going on
sometime after the GG asteroid strike. If it has any interest for you,
it's easy to jump back in.

Thanks for the dance, Bill. Your engagement and pushback has sharpened and modified my own thinking (as has the commentary of others here, though in the trenches this may not often be apparent). Wishing you well (and hopeful you'll come to accept your t.o dependency and sign up for a GG alternative)
