"Turgor pressure increases inside the appressorium and a penetration

that's the most erotic thing i've read in a long time.

I can't think why you read that sort of thing.

I'm in Germany this week. Munich, where the Weissbier, duck, dumpling and red cabbage come from.

Since the bastards tried to make me redundant from my job two years ago, I have been unable to sleep at night, so at 3 am this morning I sitting up in bed watching German Channel 1. The channel showed an engine driver driving an express passenger train across Norway. It was simple film shot straight ahead from the cab so that, watching it, you could pretend to be the engine driver. Not much of a programme, you may think, especially in the ten kilometre long tunnels, but it was better than lying awake in the dark, being harangued by monsters.

So, yesterday was the engine driver's turn. Tomorrow maybe Channel One will show what a policeman sees during a working day, or a postman, or a teacher, or a bottle washer, or a shorthand typist.

It's unemployment porn.

it's a masterpiece of character development, compared to some of the
sputum that gets televised.

perhaps it'll show the policeman demonstrating the utility of profiling,
with the business end of his truncheon. or a politician taking bribes.
or a manager throwing darts at a dart-board in order to select the next
round of redundancies.

there's MORE THAN ONE? you don't need webcams, you need those automated
sentry guns from "Aliens".

Tell me about it. At least the one that was being really creepy about
it hasn't been staring into my unit lately.

i've often thought that if a scientologist tried that staring thing with
me, i could easily out-stare them, but who wants to spend half an hour
staring at a scientologist? perhaps if they spent less time practicing
their menacing stares, and more time coming up with a better bad guy
than Xenu Etrawl, they'd be bigger than the Taoists.
