Those bangs/explosions you sometimes hear right before you fall asleep

Intetesting read. I've had a few incidents wherr I was just about to enter a state of sleep and I would hear what sounded like a bang, as if a heavy piece of furniture fell over. Other times, it would be a loud boom like something big exploded nearby.
Of course, never had I found any overturned furniture or the aftermath of an explosion in any case, and it might have just been triggered by stress and worry I had during those times.

The most unusual incident I had was when I was on the verge of falling asleep, I saw snow for a brief moment, sort of like in the old days when a rental VHS tape was left to run to the very end, and you see a second or two of 'snow' before the tape auto rewinds. This startled me awake, but there was no sound associated with what I saw.
