In one dream, it was real to the extent that even to this day, I'm not even certain it was a dream. However, there is a problem with the timeline and it must have been a dream. Right?

It was apropos because it dealt with the mechanisms you suspect are there but can never find any evidence of them to prop it up. I won't spoil it for you, Doug, but...

I tried lucid dreaming a few times. I think more study should
be done on it -- it's a fascinating effect if you
can get it to work.

However, it messes with your sleep. I ended up feeling like
I hadn't had much rest. Probably missing a sleep stage or two.

I'd have to say the most _real_ dream I ever had was while camping
when I was a teenager. I fell asleep while listening
to my walkman-esque device, and had the music playing in my dream.
Chicago 16. After the album was over, I woke up, and discovered my
headphones weren't even on my head, and the player was off.

This is the section that I heard with perfect symphonic clarity
before I woke up. It must have played from my own serial memory.
