As you may expect from the franchise, you'll have tons and tons of levels in which to shoot for your three stars. Doing it won't be easy, but at least you can count on invaluable help from your birds.
Angry Birds Star Wars is a puzzle video game with similar gameplay to that from previous Angry Birds games. In the game, the player takes control of a limited group of birds, who can be launched anywhere by the use of a slingshot. All levels have a series of enemies the player must take down by the use of their characters. These enemies normally appear sheltered inside of structures made of wood, glass, and/or metal, in addition of some additional objects, such as chains and TNT. If the player fails to kill all the enemies in the levels, they will get a Level Failed screen, encouraging them to try again. If they manage to do so however, they will win and pass to the next level. Upon completing each level, the player will receive one, two, or three stars depending on the score received.
Anyway, let us take a closer look at Angry Birds Star Wars HD. If you have experience of either of the intellectual properties involved you do not need me to explain what's going on here. The birds have little Luke Skywalker wigs on and the pigs look like stormtroopers. You pull the catapult back and it fires the bird at the thing and if you do it right it all collapses but then you have to do it again and again till you get the three stars because you're on the autistic spectrum and afterwards you feel hollow inside.
This game introduces a new way of playing Angry Birds: strategy. Right before a level starts, the player gets to view the level. Then, they are sent to a screen that lets them select the characters they want to take into the level. There is always a certain amount of birds/pigs that can be taken into a level. The player can always go back to viewing the level with the tap of a button on the Select Screen.
When the player starts playing the level, the characters will show up in their card forms at the bottom of the screen. They will also be lined up behind the slingshot. Tapping a card, the player can choose in what order to fling the birds/pigs.
