STEM4US! Special Invite: #ETE17
Within the last 72 hours, major energy, financial services, and health systems in the US and around the world have been hit by cyber security attacks. These attacks were reportedly done using the next generation of malware stolen from the NSA by unknown hackers. Whoever is responsible, the issue is clear, our nation's cyber defense forces are woefully outnumbered.
To answer this threat, STEM4US!, is hosting #ETE17--- the Energy, Technology & Education Festival 2017. This event is planned for Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place, NW, Washington, DC 20001. The theme for #ETE17 is Hacking the Nation's Cybersecurity Workforce Shortage in Energy, Finance & Health Sciences.
Now in its fourth season, #ETE17 includes an Innovation, Career & Schools Fair; a hackathon/venture competition, and workshops with industry experts. Breakfast, lunch, and an evening reception hosted by NASDAQ are included in the registration price.
#ETE17 guests have the chance to network with energy, finance, and health sciences executives along with technology and education leaders working on innovative solutions to boosting our nation's cybersecurity workforce. Enjoy cool hands-on exhibits while learning about cybersecurity related jobs, internships, and grant opportunities. As an added attraction, #ETE17 is featuring a Cyber Gaming Zone to underscore the important roles of computer gaming and science fiction in exciting youth and adults alike about STEM and the cybersecurity field in particular.
Like in past years, #ETE17 coincides with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Annual Legislative Conference (Sept. 20 - 24). This conference attracts over 10,000 of the nation’s top Members of Congress and other policy makers, executives, and academic leaders. Over the years, the #ETE festivals have become known as the nation’s top forum for the intersectionality of innovation and diversity. As such, #ETE17 is an ideal venue for companies, government agencies, schools, and nonprofits to market and promote their services and products.
Check out the links below for an #ETE17 preliminary schedule and to register. Take advantage of discounted tickets and partnership packages for a limited time only. If you want to participate as a #ETE17 speaker or partner/exhibitor, email me at Ta...@stem4us.org or give me a call at 202-508-3391.
