The thunder or other stimulus has to be mild enough to prevent eliciting extreme fear (you can also use CDs or tapes of thunder, but need to have speakers distributed around the room, overhead being best).

Awesome, awesome post Trish. I forwarded a link to my aunt, who has a very thunder-sensitive PBGV. Hopefully she gets something out of your post, as I know they get a lot of thunder storms where she lives, and her dog spends most of the summer cowering and shaking.

My female miniture schnauzer goes bonkers with both thunder storms and fireworks. Wraps seem to work well if I am here during the event or I have a prescription from a vet that I use on real bad episodes (5mg Diazepam) I just discovered this web site and am now using it for my home page.

I have a Royal Toy Shih-Tzu named Cookie and he has had a terrible phobia of thunder storms and anything that beeps or has any noise in common to thunder or beeping and I try to calm him down when he starts shaking and tensing up but nothing seems to be working.

Hi, we have a female rhodesian ridgeback/akita cross who is terrified of thunderstorms & fireworks. She is a big girl & has already chewed through the wood frame of our back doors trying to get into the house. We cannot always be home with her when these events occur & took her to a vet dog behaviorist who only recommended medication. My husband & I are not fans of this method after having a bad experience with her & sedative previously. I have order a thundershirt & really hope this will help her. She is very destructive & will bite through wood, door handles etc trying to get inside the house. Even letting her into the laundry didnt work last time, as she still ran outside & started biting the wooden frame of the back door trying to get into the house. We are considering getting a cd of tunderstorm noise as well to see if this will help her.
I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has tried any other methods.

Many veterinary articles approach canine response to thunderstorms as a phobia or anxiety. I have read many tips for pet behaviors that are fear-based. Although after decades of my observing numerous canine pets in thunderstorms, I question that broad-brush label of phobia and anxiety.

There are often loud noises outside at any time of day, and occasionally the sound of motorcycles in the distance, church bells, etc. but no clear trigger on these occasions. He has always become nervous with thunder or fireworks, but this fear of outdoors reaction is new. I suspect some sound in the distance too faint for me to hear.

I have found my dog suffering from thunder phobia dead this afternoon. He had blood from his nose and mouth and all I can think of is that somehow it must be connected to the severe thunder storm we had this afternoon. Could fear have killed my boy??

My dog a 3yrs old shih zu he was not scared of thunder until there was a big thunder even i was scared, then 2 weeks later there was another thunder not big, but my dog was pretty shaken up, since then he does not want to sleep in my room, every time he look in the room toward the blinds he gets really scared starts to shiver, I tried to calm him down but he does not want to be in the room, is this normal?

I've been having an extremely annoying issue with War Thunder for quite some time now. As soon as I launch the game, the left and right stereo channels on my headphones are reversed. I. e. I'm hearing all sounds in the game from the opposite direction of where they're actually coming from. Needless to say this pretty much destroys your situational awareness. It's not just the game sounds, though: if I have War Thunder running and go into my sound settings and configuration, test sounds for the right speaker will be played on the left one and vice versa. As soon as I quit the game, everything is back to normal. The drivers for my sound hardware don't support manually reversing channels, so I can't work around it that way; and my headset can only be worn one way around. Are there ANY workarounds or fixes for this? Because it pretty much means I can't play properly if I also want to be on voice comms with anyone.

Update: I thought Equalizer APO took care of the problem, but that's not entirely true. If I run it and then start the game, the sounds will be coming from the right directions at first. But after a while - and I haven't quite figured out a pattern yet - the problem will come back. The thing is, I can't then quickly restart Equalizer APO or re-apply the config to fix the problem again. If I do anything with Equalizer APO while the game is running, all sounds cut out completely. All game sounds gone, just like that. I have to restart the game to get my sounds back. I really haven't a clue how to fix this outside of trying a different headset, but since the problem occurs ONLY with War Thunder, I find that option rather stupid.

So i got a sound mod that changes all RWR sound of War Thnder. Sadly its a older sound mod and the new update has new rwr sound wich is not in the sound mod. so i want to add One sound, but i dont know how. i can change some sounds with FMOD but the sounds i have imported are the normal war thunder sounds. so i want to change only 1 sound. the missel launch rwr warning. But i dont know how to edit the .bank file of the sound mod to just change/add that 1 sound. if somebody can help, thanks

I managed to look at all the sounds the mod have and made them to a .wav file so you can hear it. and to my suprise the mod has a missel launch warning but it is not playing when a missel is launched at me. thats because mod is older i guess.but i still need to know how to add that missel warning sound the the soundmod and activate it so i hear it ingame

I have watched the Video but i dont really understand how to import only the .bank files and edit only 1 bank file with FMOD studio. because i cant import the .bank file and see the audios that are in there. i want to edit a downloaded sound mod as i said.

While Michael Burnham and Sylvia Tilly continue to go over the records recovered from the ancient sphere, Saru undergoes a physical examination in the USS Discovery's sickbay, where he notices Dr. Hugh Culber still looking somewhat bewildered from his resurrection. When Saru comments that it seemed "inconceivable" to have Culber back, the doctor remarks that there is not a test or scan that Dr. Tracy Pollard has not run on him, and that while he looks normal, he does not feel that way. Thinking to his own transformative experience, Saru counsels that "perhaps, in feeling less like you were, you are more like who you were meant to become". Dr. Pollard goes over the results of Saru's examination, remarking that the most evident anatomical change from enduring vahar'ai was that the cartilage that had housed his threat ganglia was reforming to accommodate a new keratin-based tissue that appears like "spikes growing in like teeth". She asks if this sounds right, to which Saru replies that he would not know. He asks if the change would affect him psychologically. Dr. Pollard reviews his neurotransmitter expression patterns from a year earlier compared to that day. With Saru as her only Kelpien specimen (a term for which she apologizes), she could not say for certain what the changes meant, but her guess was that his fear responses were being repressed. This leaves Saru to wonder: "What is a Kelpien without fear? I am losing the very thing that defines me. I am stumbling in the dark, and yet I cannot help but feel that, somewhere within the unknown, there is purpose... and that we are being guided toward it."

Back on the Discovery, Burnham and Tilly report their findings to Pike, explaining why the Ba'ul thought Saru a threat, just as Bryce reports the Ba'ul are hailing them again. They are relieved to hear Saru's voice, reporting that he is with Siranna in a Ba'ul structure of some sort, but with no indicators as to their location; Owosekun can't locate him on sensors, either. Burnham reports what was found in the sphere's archives, which confirms Saru's suspicions of his own biological abilities, as well as the Ba'ul's intent to maintain their "Great Balance". Saru believes that he must somehow demonstrate, to both his people and the Ba'ul alike, what they could become, just as Saru had been. Tilly recalls that the sphere had triggered Saru's vahar'ai, but Saru believes the process must be accelerated before the Ba'ul could take action. Burnham believes if they could isolate the frequency of the sound waves the sphere transmitted, it could speed up the biological response, just as it had for Saru. Pike has reservations; what if history repeated itself? The Federation could not be responsible for the extinction of the Ba'ul. Burnham points out that the Ba'ul still had vast technological superiority, which would take the Kelpiens generations to catch up to - generations, Saru adds, for the Ba'ul to come to terms with the thing they feared most about Kelpiens: Not their so-called "baser instincts", but their rage. But the Kelpiens could prove they could move beyond it, not perpetuating the cycle, but creating a new balance. Saru admits he cannot prove it, but he believes this is why the signal brought them to Kaminar. Pike ultimately agrees, and pledges that Discovery would help amplify the signal. Burnham asks how they would broadcast the sphere's transmission to the entire planet. "The same way I made first contact with Captain Georgiou," Saru replies: "by using the Ba'ul's own technology against them." Meanwhile, Tilly finishes setting up the signal, and transmits the frequency to Saru.

The anticipation of a storm can give many pets and their owners anxiety. We don't always know why some dogs are afraid of thunder, and these types of fears may develop even if your dog has had no traumatic experiences associated with the sound. The good news is that many fear-related problems can be successfully resolved. If left untreated, however, your dog's fearful behavior can potentially become worse.
