DYMO Label Software v8.7.4 or higher or DYMO Connect for Desktop is required to print labels. The DYMO Web Service is automatically installed with these and must be running on your local computer in order to enable printing. In January, 2023 we added support for DYMO Connect. (This software is required for Dymo 550 printers which are also now officially supported.)
To make sure the printer itself is working correctly, try printing a test label from the DYMO Software. Open up the DYMO Label software, select the label size installed in your printer, add some sample text, and try to print.
Is there some sort of cache or save settings file that doesn't get removed in an uninstall? Maybe a tmp file from opening these labels in the past is keeping then from opening now? She uses them... ALOT. I've searched after the 2nd uninstall and didn't seem to find any such animal. But these things aren't always obvious.
I'm at my wits end here. The files are fine, they can all be opened on other PCs. The Software is fine as all other labels we tried open fine for this user. Just this set of 10 is an issue, and only for her. (While I've been writing this we've been randomly testing with other users.)
On the General tab of the Text Object Properties popup window, check the Function as variable object box. We also recommend that you set Text scaling to Shrink To Fit or Auto Fit so that the label space will conform to the amount of text.
Enter some sample text in the field, and then print a test label using DYMO Label software to ensure that the label prints correctly. Then, save the label to a file and load the label into Shop Manager.

With some video cards set to display thousands of colors, you may notice that label shadows are distorted or have the wrong colors. If this happens, you can either turn off drop shadows or switch the display to either 256 colors or millions of colors and the distortion will not occur.
