* finished and committed improved fixnum/bignum implementation; added
tests that found bugs that had been in the old always-BigInteger
implementation.

* experimented with faster iteration.
* experimented with moving for-each over to being based on
java.util.Iterable and java.util.Iterator. (this is definitely the way
forward, but there are a few details to work out.)
