WhenI export my layouts to PDF and I open the PDF file on Adobe Acrobat, it shows a message: "There's an error in this page. Maybe Acrobat doesn't show the page correctly. Contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem". And all the pages are mostly empty, showing just some random lines and fills. The strange thing is that when I open the same file on Microsoft Edge, all the layouts look completly normal. I guess there's something in between Archicad conversion to pfd and Acrobat reading of the pdf file. I saw some comments here at Graphisoft community of people having the same problem, but none of them seem to come up with a solution that worked for me. I've already tried to print instead of exporting but there's no page size compatible with my layout size. I've also tried so many other things and nothing works.

We've had issues with the new colored facades that uses textures and acrobat. If the image files are high resolution it can create a lot of issues in the pdf and some programs handle these issues better than others (edge for example seems better equipped than acrobat).

Thanks.

No, my layouts are just plans of a house. So some walls, dont show, some objects, lines, fills, everything. And its not about the layers because some with the same layers show and some don't.

Maybe try to repair the project. When opening a project there is a checkbox you can mark that says "open and repair" and it can solve some issues. Other than that I don't know what to do except gradually remove objects and fills and stuff to try to find what is causing the issue. Might be some text as well, incompatible fonts?

Hello.

We ended up deciding to start a new file from zero and I started copying the whole project and testing the pdf exportation. Then I discovered that some specific slabs that were corrupting the whole file. So I erased them and it finally worked! Thanks for your help though.

Hi,

When I export my artboards to PDF format, Images which are masked with shape are misplaced. I've attached the images from my Artboard and image from the exported PDF format for the comparison & reference. Please look into it as soon as possible.

I saw this workaround below, and I had success. If you have the suite, open the exported XD PDF in Illustrator, and it should be good. Then re-export your pdf from there! @adobe you definitely need to solve this...

This issue also occurs in Adobe acrobat reader.

It's not just about Apple Preview.

Please fix it as soon as possible. I'm in great trouble at work, and I'm even considering migrating to Figma.

Please fix this issue and enable the possibility to export the pdf content as a raster image instead of vectors.

It's annoying when you send things to client and there is always something not working with colors, mask etc..

It is not just apple preview that is the problem. Don't blame the other guy. My client uses only pc based computers and sees the jumbled images too and can't see any of my pdf's accurately. Please fix this error Admin Adobe. This is really terrible.

A temporary fix is to do what Andrew Johnson said below. Save PDF from XD. Right click PDF-file and choose "Open with..." and choose "Save as Adobe PDF". That worked for me as well but for the $$$ you pay for the Adobe software you shouldn't have to try and find a temp "fix".

I did a grave mistake by choosing XD over Figma. Now I have a portfolio that I have been working on for months- which I promised to send today, but fully of distorted and mis-cropped images. It's the end of 2021, seriously!? and they charged me a hefty subscription to export this crap! FIX THIS.

I've struggled so much from this bug and even my resume went wrong because of the export problem. I've looked up many forums and tried one of the users' comments below, nothing worked. Even when I want to save it as an Adobe pdf, it didn't let me.

One thing I came up with that really saved my life is that you can always export the single element as a png or jpg and import it back in. So that when you export the pdf it won't mess up your masked image because itself is just an image.

Hope this is useful to some of you and I really hope one day this bug will be fixed soon

I have a work around for this, but not sure if it will be an option for everyone. Once I've saved out a PDF, I then right click on the file and it gives me an option to 'Save as Adobe PDF'. Once I've done that the file then opens up OK in Preview. See attached.

Masked image not displaying correctly in Preview on Mac. I am getting a zoomed in look at the image rather than as designed in XD. PDF opens fine in a web browser. Attached is a screenshot of the masked image that is supposed to be a profile image of a face.

Since we are providing these pdfs to clients, it would be nice to know that they are able to open this files on a mac with Preview or any other program!! You can't be serious about not fixing that issue.
