Estoy encantada de presentarme como la nueva directora interina de la Escuela de Inmersión en Español César Chávez. El objetivo principal de mi trabajo, es trabajar en quipo para formar jóvenes que serán miembros productivos de nuestra sociedad. Mi compromiso es servir a nuestros jóvenes fomentando su bienestar social y emocional todos los días a través de una educación rigurosa y programas educativos equitativos.
Introduction: Vertical immersion induces a variety of physiological responses in different body systems, depending on the properties of fluid mechanics, which are the basis that underpins aquatic therapy programs in different pathologies.
Results: All studies showed positive results to the different forms of exposure of vertical immersion in water and the summation of the stimuli used; no adverse effects were reported in any case.
Conclusions: The vertical immersion in the water generates positive effects on cerebral blood flows, cortical activation, executive functions and the production of neurotrophins in healthy subjects.
Esta práctica de laboratorio recomendada permite tener el sistema microscópico siempre listo para que lo use el siguiente técnico. De otro modo, el técnico puede contaminar accidentalmente las muestras y los otros objetivos con los residuos de aceite. Tampoco tendrán que dedicar tiempo a eliminar el aceite de inmersión seco y podrán realizar sus observaciones dentro de los plazos previstos.
Las lentes de objetivo suelen ser muy pequeñas y puede ser complicado detectar la existencia de polvo en la lente. Por suerte, tenemos un truco para superar este problema. Dual-language immersion is a method of educating students in an instructional setting that allows them to acquire a second language through subject content instruction, educational discourse, and social interaction in the second language for at least 50% of the academic day.
Through our Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Program students are taught using a 50/50 model, in which students spend half of their school day in an English only setting and the other half of the day in a Spanish only setting. This program delivers 50% of instruction in English and 50% of instruction in Spanish. Immersion students follow the same standard-based curriculum in all content areas that non-immersion students would follow in any other Dalton Public School elementary classroom.
Our pre-k program is a state funded program that follows a lottery system, therefore, a definite spot in our Spanish immersion pre-k program is not guaranteed. Students participating in the pre-k program will have one teacher and will remain in one classroom in which they will receive all content instruction in both English and Spanish with half of the day being taught in English and the other half of the day in Spanish.
Dual Immersion uses two languages for literacy and content instruction for all students. Two-way immersion programs give all students the opportunity to maintain and develop oral and written skills in their first language while they simultaneously acquire oral and written skills in a second language. The goals are for the students to develop high levels of listening, speaking, reading, and writing ability in both English and the secondary language while attaining academic achievement that is at or above their grade level as measured by Utah Core Curriculum tests. All students will demonstrate positive cross cultural attitudes and behaviors. Dual immersion classrooms bring together students from different languages, racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, they allow students to learn first hand about cultures that are different from their own.

Students maintain their first language while adding a second language, and they develop pride in their own language and culture while developing an understanding of the cultures and traditions of others. The program at Stetson Elementary will be a Spanish/English program that utilizes the 80:20 immersion model. This means that students will learn academic standards in the target language in Kindergarten and 1st grade for 80% of classroom instruction, with the 20% of English instruction focused on literacy skills that are unique to English (such as specific phonetic sounds and oral language.)
Two major objectives guide the implementation of two-way dual language immersion programs, namely, (1) having a successful forum for addressing the language and academic needs of English learners, and (2) having an opportunity for other students to gain a world class education that instills the promise of a more interdependent world. For English learners (ELs) to have an equitable education, programs must be in place that value languages in addition to English as a means for learning the academic concepts required of successful students.
The promises are many: the academic gap can cease to exist and the United States can become the exemplar of multicultural societies working together toward a common goal. ELs will become students who achieve academic success, leaving high school with a diploma and college-ready. One program model that can help make this a reality for ELs is a two-way dual language immersion program.

Soldiers exhibited erythema, painful swelling and increased sensitivity of the foot skin. This disorder was associated with prolonged contact with water (>72 hours) at high temperature (22-32ºC). While the literature only comprises reports of cases of immersion foot resulting from exposure to water at low temperature4,7, in the present study we found lesions derived from exposure to water at room temperature. The most common mechanism for the development of immersion foot is the continued wearing of wet socks and/or footwear7. Water at room temperature accumulated inside the non-impermeable shoes worn by the participants all along the working hours, which characterizes strong, frequent and permanent exposure. In addition, microtrauma caused by friction upon walking increased the odds for lesions to become worse and favored the occurrence of secondary infection.
