Hi everyone,
I haven't been hacking on anything for a while, so when a project does start to bug me, I do try to take care of it.
Last weekend I had been digging into USB Human Interface Devices, and how to use a microcontroller to present some kind of interesting device to the computer. In this case a mute button for my online meetings. The rabbit hole is deep, so I didn't get to the bottom of the project, but it was an interesting start. I've written it up here if interested to anyone:

Searching further, it also seems like that other microcontrollers like the RP2040 (or other boards built on top of that, like the Adafruit Feather RP2040) would be even better than the long time out of support leftover MCUs I found at home. Anyone know if the shops at Guanghua might have that? I've seen that online (DigiKey, for example) I can buy them, but it would be nice in-person if possible.
