Hi all,
First, thanks to Grant for gamely taking you lot on and organizing at least one hike over the summer hols - Thanks Grant (if anyone else is interested in organising something anytime, please feel free to ask - this group is basically democratic!)
I'm arriving back in Taiwan after an intense but basically amazingly fun eight weeks travelling, and although I'll be badly jetlagged the day after, am itching to get out for at least a short trip on Sunday, so after much humming and haa-ing, I'll going for it and there'll be a short hike/river trace to the magnificent, enchanting Yuemeikang Waterfall on Sunday.
This is a familiar place to many by now as it's gone in the short space of a couple of years from being almost unknown to one of the northern Taiwan's hot-spot short hikes (it's also on the cover of Taipei Escapes Two, if you have that) so to do something a bit different (and because it's still damn hot back there) this time - I want to river trace all the way up from the bus stop at the bottom to the waterfall. Never done it before, so not sure if there'll be any obstacles en-route, but hey, we're here to explore! To join this hike you MUST have river tracing booties (we'll be doing a few more river traces before the season ends, so it's worth buying a pair - they're cheap - if the idea interests you.

We'll meet at 8 am on Sunday at Taipei City Hall MRT Station Exit 2(?) street level. I'm not 100% on the exit number, but it's the same one as for Taipei City Hall, the 101 shuttle bus and the City Hall Bus Station, so it should be easy to find the right one. As usual PLEASE let me know if you're coming. Attendees on trips go right down over summer, and I don't want to trek out there if only a couple are coming.

More details in a day or two!
