Hi all,
Just a quick note (more details later) to confirm we'll be heading out again (for the last trip before my summer adventures) on Sunday. Unless the weather becomes very unstable and there's a lot of rain, the idea is a return visit to the Jiajiuliao Stream river tracing up to the two natural swimming pools there.
For this trip you MUST be able to swim (obviously...!), must be in fairly good shape (it's not hard, but is quite rough in places) and MUST have river tracing booties. These can be bought in any hiking store, such as the line on Zhongshan North Road near the train station, for NT$400 or so. This last is important, as the rocks are very slippery if you wear sandals or ordinary hiking shoes.
We'll be meeting at Xindian MRT station around 8 am, but I'll confirm exact times etc tomorrow or Friday am, when the weather conditions are clearer. If things are looking unstable, I'll swap to a safer, dry, hike, as the danger of flash floods in that gorge mustn't be underestimated.
Cheers
Richard
