Shah, S. (2020, November 22). Top Important Formulas Used by Civil Engineer While Working at Construction Site -Part 1. Civil Success Online. Retrieved December 13, 2021, from -important-formulas-used-by-civil-engineer-while-working-at-construction-site-part-1/

Fully updated and packed with more than 500 new formulas, this book offers a single compilation of all essential civil engineering formulas and equations in one easy-to-use reference. Practical, accurate data is presented in USCS and SI units for maximum convenience. Follow the calculation procedures inside Civil Engineering Formulas, Second Edition, and get precise results with minimum time and effort.

The candidates can fully utilize these formulas in solving the quizzes and previous question papers for Civil Engineering. The candidates are advised to memorize the subject-wise basic Civil Engineering formulas to answer more questions and achieve the highest possible score in GATE, ESE and University Examinations. The subject-wise basic Civil Engineering formulas include the formulas for all subjects like Strength of Materials, Structural Analysis, Steel Structures, Fluid Mechanics, Soil Mechanics Etc.

We are offering Important formulas for Civil Engineering exams subjects. These notes will help candidates revise the important formulas regularly, and they can revise them in the final few hours before the exam.

We provide the most subject-wise basic Civil Engineering formulas on a single page for the best preparation strategy. All civil formulas must be thoroughly revised for the civil engineering subject before the exam. These formulas will help you in the following ways:

The GATE study material for the Civil Engineering branch is also available along with subject-wise basic Civil Engineering formulas. Civil Engineering study material will help to understand how subject-wise basic Civil Engineering formulas have come up. As a result, we have compiled a list of topic-specific GATE notes for effective preparation. Aspirants can also attempt the best-designed Civil Exams Quizzes after learning these formulas.

As per recent trends, Geotechnical engineering has maximum weightage in the GATE civil engineering exam. It gets a weightage of 13% in the GATE exam. Moreover, Engineering Mathematics gets the same weightage each year.

In most engineering problems, because of a lack of complete information about the structure of the performance function, selection of the optimal approach for efficient reliability analysis is in essence a decision under uncertainty. This issue is investigated in this paper and, by representing reliability methods as search algorithms, no-free-lunch theorems (NFL) of search and optimization are used to propose similar NFL for reliability analysis. Using NFL, this study aims to answer some basic questions about the existence and selection of optimal reliability methods for black- and gray-box problems and proposes a mathematical framework for the application of detection theory in structural reliability. Black- and gray-box problems in this context refer to structural reliability problems with, respectively, no and partial information on the topology of the limit state function. Then, by employing Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence as a generalized Bayesian decision-making theorem, a practical experts-in-the-loop approach for the selection of an optimal reliability method in uncertain conditions is proposed. To meet this aim, providing a step-by-step solution of some selection problem examples, it is shown that knowledge of several experts can be fused into one all-encompassing knowledge representation to reduce the probability of making an error in the selection of an optimal approach for efficient reliability analysis.

Now you can get a single compilation of all essential civil engineering formulas and equations in one easy-to-use portable reference. More than three-quarters of the material in Tyler Hicks' Civil Engineering Formulas: Pocket Guide is in the form of formulas, tables, and graphs, presented in SI and USCS formats. Each chapter, offering collections of problems and calculations, gives you quick reference to a well-defined topic:

"At present there exist two quite distinct fields in fluid flow in pipes, the one in water supply and the other in the petroleum industry. It is the purpose of this paper to discuss the various pipeline flow formulas as used in both fields and to correlate the exponential type formula which is much used in practice with the Nikuradse curves obtained in the laboratory"--A Brief Historical Review, page 5.

Drainage formulas usually can be classified into two categories: steady flow formulas for the cases of long lasting rainfall or closely spaced drains and nonsteady flow ones for the cases of short period rainfall and irrigation water infiltration. In the latter cases the specific yield and evaporation from water table are the important parameters involved in the drainage formulas. As shown by W. Zhang and Y. Zhang (1982) the drain-able porosity for a certain soil is a function of rate of drawdown and initial depth to ground water table, as well as intensity of evaporation. The formulas for water table draw-down with delayed gravity response have been developed by Neuman (1982) on the basis of 2-D flow equations.
