There are thousands of children in Arizona who have experienced abuse or neglect. Voices for CASA Children seeks to give a Voice to these children through a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are volunteers who look out for the best interest of children who have exprienced abuse and neglect. CASA volunteers help ensure children are placed in safe, loving and permanent homes.

Earn a dollar-for-dollar tax credit with a donation to Voices for CASA Children, a qualified Foster Care Tax Credit charitable organization (QFCO Code 10010). Your contribution directly supports child advocacy in Arizona and makes a difference in the lives of children who most need a voice.

There are other ways to get involved besides becoming a CASA volunteer. As a member of the Voices for CASA Children community you can collaborate with other individuals who are passionate, trustworthy and focused on ensuring children have positive outcomes and a brighter future.

After completing this form you will be directed to the CASA volunteer application which is located on the CASA of Maricopa County website. If you have any questions please contact us at in...@voicesforcasachildren.org.

New Voices is a student-powered nonpartisan grassroots movement of state-based activists who seek to protect student press freedom with state laws. These laws counteract the impact of the 1988 Hazelwood v. Kuhlmeier Supreme Court decision, which dramatically changed the balance of student press rights. New Voices supporters include advocates in law, education, journalism and civics who want schools and colleges to be more welcoming places for student voices.

The 2024 legislative year is underway. New Voices bills have been introduced in Arizona, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Several state legislatures have started their sessions; click the links to find out more.

Read the specifics about the laws and regulations here. In addition, Virginia law protects the rights of college students only, and there are codes protecting the rights of student journalists in the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania.

In response to the severe economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, ACLS created the Emerging Voices Fellowship program in 2020 to support early career scholars whose voices, perspectives, and broad visions will strengthen institutions of higher education and humanistic disciplines in the years to come.

Fellows took up placements with members of the ACLS Research University Consortium, where they advanced their research and professional development while contributing to the teaching, programming, and administrative work of their host university.

The Emerging Voices Fellowship was funded through the ACLS endowment, which has benefited from the generous support of esteemed institutions and individuals including The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Arcadia Charitable Trust, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the ACLS Research University Consortium and college and university Associates, past fellows, and friends of ACLS.

Formed in 1919, ACLS is a nonprofit federation of 81 scholarly organizations. As the preeminent representative of American scholarship in the humanities and interpretive social sciences, ACLS holds a core belief that knowledge is a public good.

Say hello to Daphne! She may be the quietest member of our team, but she sure has the loudest "voice" when it comes to bringing comfort to the people we work with in the community. She is our Canine Companion and is so much more than just an adorable 5 year old Black Labrador/Golden Retriever hybrid dog. Daphne is a smile-maker, sadness-taker, joyful-spirit and fearless-friend who loves giving kisses, chasing squirrels, and hunting for sticks.

Daphne joined Voice for Children in 2017 to accompany children in forensic interviews, support groups, court proceedings, medical exams and other events throughout the community. She has touched many lives, comforted several children, and brings incredible happiness to everyone she meets. Be sure to visit with Daphne when you visit Voices for Children. You won't regret it!
