Dear all,

Instead of raising such financial issues in the organisations like TAI does not really serve the purpose. This could be one of the agenda but can not be only this agenda. The performance of the President can not be judged only by the profit/loss for "Not for profit' organisations. The main performance of the President can be seen by his
1.Successful involvement of textile fraternity.
2.Popularity of the organisation at National as well as international levels created by his team by interacting with them on various pateforms by attending and organising such conferences of repute.
3.Image of TAI created by the president at central as well as state governments.
4.The image of TAI created by President and his team, among various international and National machinery mfrs and suppliers.
5.Efforts carried out by president towards innovation and technical advancement.

Further, the approval system as suggested will only create hurdles in furthering efforts by the state unit who is the host for the conference hence instead of making it bureaucratic, the following suggestions may be taken for consideration. All out efforts should be made to make every Conference a milestone instead of making it a local conference.Funds will definitely flow once we make efforts to focus on quality and involvement of all generations.

It remind me of All India Textile conference organised by TAI Vidarbha unit around 1978.It was a grand success story.I have seen a very few such textile conferences later. Off late I am finding that the all India Textile conferences standards in regard to the delegates quantity as well as technical presentations has a very good scope of improvements.Going forward my advise for the 74th textiles conference to be organised are as follows:

1.There has to be real involvement of technical papers committee right from publicity of invitation of technical papers.Members of very good calibre as well as well connected and technical competence can be inducted in this committee. These members can influence for call of papers even from foreign institutions of repute. There will be less difficulty in selection of papers fro presentations when such deliberations are done. With the good subject matter and known personalities of national and international status, we can expect automatically presence of good number of delegates.

2.Instead of routine type of Theme a very business/innovation/technical related useful contemporary should be selected involving central committee. The key note speaker should also be the one among either a business leader or a Company director followed by connected department secretary or the central minister as chief guest. This will give a good support to the conference as well as business.People would like to come as delegates.

3. The purpose of such conferences are to involve more and more people from business and technicians. The delegates fees should be kept as minimum as possible if we want as many people attend from at least all india level if not from international. The delegates otherwise have to bear a huge expenses from travel and hotels, in this context it is very important.

4.The conference should be made as attractive as possible by giving a good publicity. The committee for program should consist of at least one GC member from each state centre and directors from reputed textiles institutes and they should be actively involved. These committees should atleast meet twice before conference and their expenses may be borne by the conference.Hence, only selective members in these committees should be chosen by taking their consent in advance as well as in writing by explaining importance their roles.

I have written for the first time, therefore please do not take it otherwise.Any more clarification, you may contact me.

Dear Sirs ,
I agree with Mr Ashok Juneja and feel that president should get approval from G C Meeting  for any event / seminar ,conference , conclave etc  with all the details of expected earning and expanses . He should also high light the expected  source of income and funds to meet out the expanses and understandings . it will give a rough idea, are we going to loose or earn in particular event and if it is lose making proposal , what is urgency of it ??.

I also wish, a proper record should be kept of earning or lose in the tenure of particular President and tabled in G C Meeting after he leave the office  .

The accounts of lose and profit for Mr D R  Mehta and Mr Arvind Sinha may be kept In G C Meeting , if it is  not  very lengthy process ,which will reflect  the performance of president during his tenure .
I think we have to be more practical , professional and work systematically  to complete the work in 4 G C Meetings in two years  to save money and time . If any decision is to be taken in emergency , a core committee( President , Vice president , Chairman , Secretary , Treasurer )  can take it and get approval in next G C Meeting .
The above are my suggestion and may be taken in Agenda in Next G C Meeting .

Dear Sir,

Noted the below.

Understand one of the reason for postpone of GC meeting  is financial constrain at Central office.

I am surprised to have this as it is contrary to information being shared by earlier Managing Committee.  As per the information shared during various GC meetings in the past saying that Central office financial status is very sound as  various activities were organized in last 2 - 4 years in India & overseas and lot of surplus funds  are made.  Hence, request to please share  the facts event wise .

It is also being heard that TAI -Delhi unit is very unhappy as  Central office is not making their payment towards  expenses made by them for the event organized at Maruthal.  GC members should be kept informed about the total expenses made for the event and what was understanding between Delhi Unit and Central Office.

Request to have the input so it can be discussed in GC meeting.

Thanks & Regards

The President / Imm. Past President

Vice President

All G. C. Members & Hon. Secretaries

of All Units of the Textile Association (India)

Dear Sir/Madam

Sub: Proposed IInd GC meeting on 6th May 2018 at Ahmedabad.

As we had our Ist GC meeting in February 2018 at Nagpur and looking in to the financial constraints and not any urgent matters, we the Office Bearers decided to postponed the proposed GC meeting from 6th May 2018 to end of August or beginning of September 2018. We have also considered the summer vacation rush in May causing inconvenience in travelling.

We understand South Gujarat Unit is planning to conduct a Seminar during first week of September 2018 at Surat and the Unit has agreed to host GC meeting at Surat during the same period.

As soon as the date is finalized same will be inform to all GC members.

Thanks and best wishes,

(T. K. Sengupta)    (K. L. Vidur)

President             Hon. Gen. Secretary
