Whenever I get Garv's squadron stage on Deimos bounties I always get mad since I know one thing for sure: I'm gonna lose the bonus. First off, the grineer squad insta-kills the weaker crawlers and chargers and can get from 3% kills to 53% in a matter of a small slip up. Secondly, percentages on a kill contest make no sense!!! Make it a damn number and not percentages! And lastly, the most important part: Make the egg-sacks count, WHY DO THE EGG-SACKS NOT COUNT AS KILLS? This isn't a kill contest against Garv, it's a reflex contest where you MUST BE VIGILANT and KNOW WHEN TO SHOT IMMEDIATELY or you lose your kill to them!
Yeah the bounty structure is bad. I don't even know why Infested Spawn Pods are even a thing on Deimos. The planet is entirely infested. They should just spawn right out of the ground and in large numbers. Waiting for those 3 pods at a time while solo is a joke when you can see faster spawns on Mercury while doing the tutorial quests.
Since it probably won't change anytime soon, a workaround is using Specters (such as Wukong's Celestial Twin, the Duality augment for Equinox, Excalibur Umbra while in Operator mode, and On Call Crew from Railjack with a weapon that doesn't have ammo issues) or Mesa's Peacemaker.
I have an Overframe build with a short guide at the bottom with links to all the builds I am currently farming with. This is my third Naberus event, and I like to optimize my Mother Token gains while farming solo for the month. Feel free to check it out.
Doubt player abilities count towards Grineer kills. Likely their flamethrowers are getting the last tickle damage in and they claim the kill much like how a Saryn can claim a vast majority of the kills but someone else have a much high damage percentage meaning Saryn was kill stealing her cheeks off.
With that said, funny little interaction they have with Xaku; if you lock down two targets within a reasonable distance of the Grineer, kill everything else, the grineer will rush towards the invulnerable infested and attempt to kill it and ignore the newly spawned ones until they get close enough.
But as suggested, OP, use your Necramech. Even on Steel Path bounty I never fail this anymore after starting to use my Necramech. The Voidrig fourth ability just nukes down everything and I am not even running proper elements against infested with it. Running a Radiation build I was using for Orphix and Eidolon hunts. Still hits for multiple tens of thousands against armored infested on steel path.
Spawn pods definitely should count I was absolutely furious when I figured out that they don't and that's why I kept losing. Rather than just targeting the infested like the mission suggests is the correct way to do the bounty, if you want to win the bonus you have to focus on just kill stealing Garv and his crew which sucks.
Then that must be a bug, only abilities can attack through the rift, so unless garv is an eximus, or the timer runs out without you noticing, he shouldn't be able to attack anything that isn't in the rift with him.
It's one of those bonus the players has to know how to do the job instead of just mindlessly spam attack. Why there is egg sacks is beyond my understanding. Could of make the infest crawl out of the ground. Or drop them from the floating coccoon thingy.
Well i'd bet a lot of players would be upset about that, because he would be the first npc made able to attack through the rift, not even players can do that without abilities. Not only that but by doing so DE would be indirectly acknowledging that the bounty is too difficult, and would be doing less then nothing by removing one of the only ways around it.
Chaos Dragon's priest is Raltark and his general is Rarshart (they do not appear in the anime). His known minions are Kanzel, Mazenda, Seigram, and in the anime, Valgarv, Deo, Zazan, and possibly Evia.
Garv's human form is a roughly middle aged man with long red hair wearing a trench coat and carrying a huge sword; his beast form is an enormous three headed red dragon. Although the exact details are unknown, this similarity to shinzoku in form is no coincidence: In the Kōma War, Ruby Eye Shabranigdu specifically required his assistance to defeat Aqualord Ragradia, although the ma-ō had a stronger minion, Hellmaster Fibrizo at his disposal.
The victory over the Aqualord came with a price for Garv, however, as Ragradia used the last amounts of his power to seal Garv into his human form. He hoped that similarly to Shabranigdu, Garv's power would slowly diminish as he is reborn over and over again. But for inexplicable reasons, this was not the case: Garv's soul fused with his human host, and he regained his full strength as a mazoku.
Shortly afterwards however, a surprisingly open conflict erupted between Garv and the other lords. According to Garv himself, he turned against the others because he could no longer support the ultimate mazoku goal of eliminating all of existence; it is a common belief among those aware of the conflict that this change of perspective was caused by Garv's new partially human mentality, and that his betrayal of the mazoku race stems from his human instinct to survive. This theory is complicated by the fact that mazoku under no such limiting conditions have also been seen possessing a survival instinct, at least for short-term prospects, and that many other pure mazoku also state specific circumstances which must be met before they would accept or assist the world's destruction.
It was around this time that Garv met Val, the last remaining ancient dragon and transformed him into Valgarv. Valgarv became one of his most trusted servants, and Garv somehow arranged that if he is ever destroyed, a great deal of his power will be transferred to him (this only occurs in the anime). However, possibly due to the mazoku barrier, Valgarv was unable to assist his master with his plans.
Not much is known about Garv after that until Lina Inverse's appearance; Lina and her friends thwarted several of the Chaos Dragon's plans. These plans had one common theme: Garv wanted to spread his influence among the mortals, trying to secure his position by bringing powerful humans to his side. It was later revealed in the novels that his ultimate goal was to destroy the piece of Shabranigdu sealed into ice in the Kataart Mountains, and was also bargaining with the nearby golden dragons in order to make this achievable. At first he instructed his servants to force Lina Inverse into joining them as well, but after he learned that she was protected by Xelloss under the orders of Hellmaster Fibrizo, he used everything in his power to destroy her, even going as far as confronting her in person.
That became his downfall, as he did exactly what Fibrizo wanted him to do: come out into the open. Perhaps because the Aqualord's curse dulled his mazoku senses, he didn't manage to notice Hellmaster's presence in time, and was caught completely unaware of his attack. Even as a mazoku lord, he was no match for Hellmaster Fibrizo, who, after taunting him for his mistake, finished him off with a snap of his fingers - although it is also true that Garv was already injured from a full-powered Ragna Blade minutes earlier.
The Twins have a few critical needs heading into 2024, and one of them is a right-handed bat who can play first base. Old friend Mitch Garver fits the bill, but is the former fan favorite someone they would consider? Would he consider them?
Drafted back in 2013, Mitch Garver spent a substantial amount of time in the Twins organization. He was a key member of the 2019 Bomba Squad, alongside sluggers like Nelson Cruz, Miguel Sano, and Eddie Rosario. Just two years later, though, the front office decided that Ryan Jeffers was their primary backstop, and Garver was flipped to Texas for Ronny Henriquez and Isiah Kiner-Falefa.
After an injury-marred first season with the Rangers, Garver finished his second one by earning a championship ring. He was instrumental at multiple points during the postseason, and drove in the winning run in the decisive World Series Game 5, when his single scored Corey Seager to break a scoreless seventh-inning tie.
Alex Kirilloff should be tentatively expected to play first in 2024, but he has battled injury trouble, too. After another offseason surgery, Kirilloff will look to prove that his shoulder is good to go. The former first-round pick has shown some excellent hitting skills when right, but he's been right far too rarely to establish himself.
While Edouard Julien could mix in at first base with more exposure to the spot this offseason and next spring, Garver being an option would give Baldelli a platoon situation he utilized throughout the lineup a season ago. He specializes in clobbering southpaws, and he could see less stress on his body moving out from behind the plate.
Having only played 15 career games at first base, it would be a transition on the fly for Garver. Many catchers before him have made the move, but Minnesota would certainly be taking a gamble on it going smoothly. Garver has adapted to a designated-hitter role well, and that is an area at which the Twins have an opening, so he can function in that capacity, too. Providing positional flexibility is a must for any offensive free agent the Twins bring in, though, so even a passing competence at first base would significantly enhance the fit for a return.
Ultimately, it seems highly unlikely that Garver will return to Twins Territory for several reasons. He is likely looking for a greater opportunity on the field and in his pocketbook than Minnesota can provide, and even while the fit looks good on paper, the expectation should be that the star backstop will land elsewhere.
What do you think of Garver as a potential source of power and patience for a lineup that prizes both virtues? Could a trade of Jorge Polanco or Max Kepler open payroll room to be spent on a return engagement with the prodigal Squadster?
