Hi Taiga !

I recently tried to install a new fresh instance of Taiga using taiga-scripts but it doesn't work.

When I reach http://localhost:8000 I should see the "discover" page but I got the error page with "Something happened and our Oompa Loompas are working on it."

It did the same when I tried to upgrade another taiga instance to the newer version ...

Any clue ? If it is necessary I can provide logs.

Hello!,

Could you first check your javascript console to see if there is something wrong?

Regards!,

This morning I wrote directly "http://192.168.1.34:8000/register" and tried to create a new account. Here is what I got :

Could you check accessing the API directly?, something like http://192.168.1.34:8000/api/v1/projects from your browser?

Hello Alejandro !

Thank you to take time to help.

So I tried to access to "http://192.168.1.34:8000/api/v1/projects" which leads me to an AttributeError page starting with :

AttributeError at /api/v1/projects

It is followed by a pretty long report. Do you need the whole text ?

Hello Lulu,

Yes, that trace should help.

That kind of error sounds like you didn't execute a "python manage migrate" in your taiga-back folder, is it possible?

In deed, i didn't execute any command like that. I just execute the script and that's it.

Please see the report atthis address : https://jeko.cozycloud.cc/public/files/files/3c31cc42abcf90da66e3668920108f9c/attach/errtrace.txt

I think that issue is similar to this one: https://github.com/taigaio/taiga-back/issues/603

Could you try installing django 1.8.6 in your virtualenv?

gusa...@gmail.com

I think this is the actual version of Django installed in my virtualenv. (I have no skills with python or django or virtualenv etc so...)

It's the version (you could also use a "pip show django", with that version of django, is it still failing?

Yes it does (I didn't install the 1.8.6 version because it is already installed).
Or did you mean "re-install django" ?

I'm sorry, could you try installing 1.8.9 version?, "pip install django==1.8.9"

But! I am still redirected to the error page when I go to localhost:8000 or 192.168.1.34:8000...

Even if my admin user was already existing (I was logged on the api with admin 123123), I populate my database

python manage.py migrate --noinput
python manage.py loaddata initial_user
python manage.py loaddata initial_project_templates
python manage.py loaddata initial_role
python manage.py compilemessages
python manage.py collectstatic --noinput

Then, the error page is still here...

I noted that, on the error page, when I clic on "Take me home" it tries to go to "192.168.1.34:8000/discover" before coming back to 192.168.1.34:8000/error

It sounds like when accessing to 192.168.1.34:8000/discover the API is returning an error so the front redirects you to that error screen.

Could you check again your javascript console to see what requests are done when accessing to 192.168.1.34, in chrome you should see something like:

One more question, the api URL from your conf.json file should be accessible from your browser...

gusa...@gmail.com

to taigaio, gusa...@gmail.com
You got it Alejandro !

Because you spoke about the config.json file, I look after it and I only find "~/taiga-front/dist/config.example.json" so I copied it under the name "~/taiga-front/dist/config.json" and I replace the "localhost" occurence by "192.168.1.34" and now I can access to the discover page, create user, login, etc....

Thank you very much, I was desperately stuck with a non functional Taiga at work (this is a must have ;-) ) ! Thanks to you it shines again !

Best regards

We need more info, can you paste you config files from taiga-back and taiga-front? Are you sure that taiga-back is runnig correctly? (try to access to http://<taiga-back>/admin/ or /api/v1/projects/). Have you find some error in the log files?
