Development Environment - npm install issues

Hello,
not sure if this is the right place to write, so apologies if I got it wrong. I am trying to setup a development environment for Taiga; I manage to setup taiga-back without any issues but I am having issues with taiga-front. I followed the guide here http://taigaio.github.io/taiga-doc/dist/setup-development.html and arrived to the step "npm install", which is giving me many issues.
I am working on a VM running Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS. After following all the steps and running "npm install" I get issues below. Can anyone put me in the right direction? Is it something due to wrong versions of npm or node?
