Hi,
I'm completely new with the tagtool project, and I've been struggeling
all week with it but I can't get it working.
First I tried my 2 laptops, and all seems to work well in the
beginning. I installed netframe 2.0, uploaded the tagtool project into
my arduino, that seems to work like it should. The arduino says: "
uploading done"
But when I start the nodekit, version 0.73, it says; comport 1 'does
not run tagtool controller' comport 4 'does not run
tagtoolcontroller', comport 18 (wich is the right one) scanning.....
and than again to comport 1 'does not run tagtool controller' enz....
The tagtool project opens in the nodekit but I can't get to my arduino
tagtool controller.

So I did it all over with my desktop computer, and all seems to work
well again, till I start up the nodekit, than nodekit says the
following:

"Die Datei save\Drawing.tagproj konnte nicht geladen werden"

Does anyone have some idea what I'm doing wrong, or what I should do
to make it work, please!!!

Thanx and cheers,
Roel

Hi Roel,

have you tried this - with your laptop, where everything seems to work
apart from the COM-Port:
try placing the cursor in the “Port” field of the Arduino2 Node and
press enter. That’ll refresh the connection.

all the best,

Maki

Yes I tried, and than it starts scanning the port again, and then it
jumps to "comport 1 'does
not run tagtool controller' comport 4 'does not run
tagtoolcontroller', com port 18 scanning....."

I'm thinking my tagtoolcontroller is not working properly, and I read
somewhere that you can try it with the arduino program. That you can
read out the values of your controller, but I can't find how to do
that?!

Thanx for any help.

Have you tried hitting the reset button (the little tact switch on the
Arduino board itself) *after* plugging it into the USB port and also
after opening Nodekit? There is a bug that other users have complained
of where Nodekit won't recognize the Tagtool unless you manually reset
the Arduino in the order I described. I ended up hard wiring a reset
button (between ground and the reset header plug on the Arduino) and
mounting it on the outside of my case because of this problem...

Good luck,

Scott

Yes, I tried that too and still nothing. Then I desoldered my
tagtoolcontroller, for I used really fancy BIG studio audio faders,
3k7 log. I replaced them for 10k linear potentiometers. (I had to
desolder another old diy machine for them), but still nothing, Then I
borrowed a wacom bamboo sketchpad, for I used an unknown wp5540.
Then nodekit recognised the wacom and my gamepad, but still not the
arduino tagtoolcontroller.
Now I was sure everything was OK but still nothing, arrrrg, so I
started reading all DISCUSS messages.
There I discovered that someone had the same problem for he didn't
had the right arduino/tagtool file; tagtool01.pde It only worked with
older nodekit versions. So I installed nodekit 0.68 and IT WORKED!!!!
Then I tried nodekit 0.70 and it still worked, but not with 0.73 So I
searched the site for a newer arduino/tagtool file, but I can't find
any newer then V 0.68.

I got my tagtool running and it's wonderfull!!!!!, I love to make
analogue videofeedback, and I can't wait to use my tagtoolcontroller
with that!

But still 2 big questions
1 - Where can I get the right version of the arduino/tagtool file for
nodekit 0.73?
2 - Does anyone know if tablet wp5540 will function with the tagtool.
Nodekit says it's present, and I see it reacting as a mouse, also in
the mousenode, but nothing changes in the tabletnode values.

Cheers,
Roel

And now it's working!, with nodekit 0.7.3.

I feel stupid cause I didn't noticed the cause of the problem, it was
so simple. I used Nodekit version 0.7.3, but with the arduino program
v0.68. That was the only 'downloadable', arduino program I could find.
The one on the DIY page I could only open as a textmessage. But after
a good sleep I came up with the briliant idea of copying the text into
the arduino program, and then I noticed it was an new version
(tagtool02). So I uploaded it and when I started nodekit 0.7.3
everything just worked, with the borrowed wacom bamboo tablet!

I spent another day testing and make it work with my own uc-logic
wp5540 tablet, but without result. I read a lot about wintab drivers,
and my tablet seems to have one, and the pressure test is OK, the
Nodekit says the tablet is present, but it won't work. So I give up. I
spent too much time breaking my head over tech specs, and staring
frustrated at my laptop screen. I'll buy a wacom and start playing
with this fantastic combination of machines!

Cheers,
Roel

Lately, I think after reinstalling windows, I got the "Die Datei save
\Drawing.tagproj konnte nicht geladen werden" message again, but when
I turned my display settings from 600x800 to 1024x768, and from 16 bit
color to 32 bit, everything was OK again.
Cheers,
Roel
