English: Hello, I need some help here, please. First of all sorry if my english is bad, I'm spanish :)  I try to configure my own tagtool old school with Korg NanoKontrol 2 + nodekit 0.7.6 + Wacom Volito 2 tablet + subsonic usb gamepad. The problem is the tablet: it seems works fine when I test in "Tagtool Drawing" patch, but when I try to test in "Tagtool MIDI drawing" nothing happens: no "star cursor", no paint, no draw...I reset the prefences, etc...but nothing happens...any idea?

Does your NanoKontrol work? (Look if the values in nodekit change)

Try moving the sliders (or knobs) of the Midi nanokontrol. Maybe everything is working fine but your color is black on black, or fully transparent. (You would not be the first to do this ;)
If that does not work: try holding down the release (fade) button while drawing. If this is set wrong you might be "releasing/fading" all the time, and nothing will seem to happen...

Hope this helps,
good luck,

Gilliom

thank you for your quick answer! _I'll try what you says but yes, the nanokontrol2 seems to work well (it change the values, etc...) I move the faders while drawing to see what happens or if I painting black on black or something like you say, but nothing happens..no paint, no changes, nothing...

One more thing that I can think of: when I first started using the nanokontrol, I got everything working for a while, untill I moved one of the sliders to fast (which really wasn't all that fast). Then everything would simply freeze: none of the sliders worked. I found a solution (by accident) in installing this little program: http://www.midiox.com/  I just run it and let it run in the background while using the tagtool.

It doesn't really seem like this is going to solve your problem, but perhaps it will, and perhaps it's a problem you might run in to later.

(also see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8nYsMXAKNc for this - unfortunately not in Spanish....)

Another possibility: if you can, try getting your hands on another tablet. I have never heard of someone using the Volito succesfully (which is not to say it is impossible :) but trying a more common (and tested) tablet like an intuos or bamboo might solve this....
(I know you said it worked when you did not use the midi-mode, but nevertheless, it is worth a try....)

Hi! it's me again :) Thank very much for your advices!!

I make another tests this days with a Bamboo tablet of a friend and I have exactly the same problem: the tablet seems work fine in "normal mode" but doesn't work in midi-mode. I know about de midi-ox and a I let it open in the background when I configure and use the nanokontrol, etc...but nothings happens...so I dont know what the problem is, maybe a device conflict or something like that, I dont know... :( Can someone with a nanokontrol and/or a bamboo tablet send me his patch to see if something is wrong?

This is the patch I load into nodekit to have the nanokontrol talk with it : https://www.dropbox.com/s/tvly1ln3lcib9xx/Tagtool%20Drawing%20Midi_final_01.tagproj
Is that the patch you wanted? Because contrary to working with arduino, I don't think you have to load a pde file.

Also: please make sure the release button is working properly. Press the release button - if the star cursor shows up, it is simply wired wrong.

Strange problem. I'm thinking the problem should be with the midikontroller. Are you sure that does what it needs to do? You can see the values change in the midi-ox program. Check if these changes are what you would suspect them to be according to your patching. But then again, why would that affect the tablet?

I think you've tried about everything there is to try. Bamboo should work (Volito = ?) - You tried removing all preferences for the wacom  -   install different drivers   -  try older nodekit version

Bit puzzled for now....
