If there's a significant amount of work you do afk, then, yeah,
TagTime might not be great for tracking your total time worked. There
is an android TagTime app that I wrote a long time ago, but it's not
integrated with your local log, or Beeminder in any way, but it does
follow the universal ping schedule (aka with 45 minute gap). I mostly
work at my computer, but the strategy I use when I have something to
do afk that counts as work is I take my phone with me and record any
pings that happen on my phone. Then I can transfer them back to my
desktop log when I return, without guessing. (That's about all I use
the android app for). That works for me because my afk work is pretty
limited.
Have you joined the tagtime google group?

This might be an interesting topic of discussion there. And you might
get more ideas for dealing with afk time? In fact, I guess cc the
mailing list and see if anyone wants to jump in.
